Increase in processing time

I've read that others have been told the same by NVC operators, that being they have had an increase in applications and there for the processing time is no longer as quick as it had once been. To my reconing the processing time appears to have increased from a couple of weeks to at least a couple of months, like i say this is just my experience and observations. I'd be interested if anyone has any idea why there should have been such a dramatic increase in applications ???????????

I have done only a quick check of the latest timelines for the NVC journey. There are at least two VJers who have been in the NVC going on about 5 weeks now, without any updates.

A friend at my local computer repair shop is also doing a CR-1 visa from India and he told me his file has been at the NVC for a month so far with no updates.

It seems this increase in processing time (if true) is something very recent just now being enforced. Some have said this is because the NVC workers have been asked to focus their attentions on other types of visas rather than CR-1 visas.

So far I am watching and will also be submitting my own file to the NVC soon. But there do seem to be some early indications that files are taking longer to process at the NVC than initially thought.

Yes, really... From the other folks' timelines a few months ago one can see the NVC stage used to take up to 10 days if no RFE - ours took almost 60+ days... Well, we do not mind now because we did get approved! :-) Best wishes to everyone!

I guess NVC is getting slower than last month. It takes DS3032 to IV FEEL BILL generated takes about month now. My DS 3032 has been accepted 2 weeks now, haven't receive IV FEE BILL yet. I think they are cutting their workload by sending delay IV FEE BILL. Thats what happen in my case. because I have only one more step to go....

This is all very interesting. I read in a different thread that the NVC has told a couple of people that the back up is at the embassy and not with them. The embassy these members are going through is Bogotá, Colombia which is not known for any backups whatsoever. It seems to me that the NVC is putting these CR1/IR1 cases on hold until they can catch up with other types of visas...???

It seems to be very hit and miss right now. I see some still going through very fast and then others are taking forever. I just went from 3032 to IV bill in two weeks, however, nothing now. Miami Boy, you should have yours soon. I do also agree that they are probably holding up the IV bills to catch up on their backlog, shoot it makes their stats look much better.

My AOS confirmation took 3 weeks end-to-end at the NVC. We'll see how long it takes for DS-230 ...
