Indigo - I think one of the biggest goals of sex research is to reduce sexual ignorance and open minds to other possibilities of things that are actually "normal". You should read some more about it.

Well, that and soaking up govt. money for useless information.

Which items on the list did not require any research to make? You do realize that technology is a series of steps forward - that everything that is made is researched, tested and finally used - nothing just happens. Tools do not just drop out of trees fully matured ;)
