You're some what correct. By high school, most of the kids who are destined for nominal jobs or jobs where they compete with illegal day laborers have been sorted out. In college, there are less of this. But then people start discovering politics and veer to that along with drinking, partying, or generally being holigaans. It's very simple, actually.

If we're banging one broad and know she's only banging us, we don't need to release that much sperm with each shot. When it's possible that our "main" is tricking around or someone else is hitting it too, we'll release more in order to up our chances of impregnating her.

Certainly- competition from the 'selective advantage' POV... which means the adaptation to produce a higher volume of sperm would increase a male's chances of impregnating his partner. Do remember though that in our species, most of the time, we tend to have one offspring at a time and sperm volume has a negligible effect on 'litter size.'

As Gemmie suggests, those males that can 'refill' quicker would have a selective advantage in impregnating more females, but we'd be talking about a human society we haven't seen in millenia. And on Maury Povich.
