Hi,

I just become citizen this year and I am thinking of a fast way to bring my sister in USA. Is it possible to bring my sister as babysitter to watch my baby boy? I will be her employer.

I would greatly appreciate any advice and information.

No, there are no "babysitter" visas. There is a J1 for au-pairs, but they need to go through an agency, and I don't think that you could request your sister specifically.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Now that you are a USC, you may petition for your sister. It will take several years.

03/27/2009: Engaged in Ithaca, New York.
08/17/2009: Wedding in Calcutta, India.
09/29/2009: I-130 NOA1
01/25/2010: I-130 NOA2
03/23/2010: Case completed.
05/12/2010: CR-1 interview at Mumbai, India.
05/20/2010: US Entry, Chicago.
03/01/2012: ROC NOA1.
03/26/2012: Biometrics completed.
12/07/2012: 10 year card production ordered.

09/25/2013: N-400 NOA1

10/16/2013: Biometrics completed

12/03/2013: Interview

12/20/2013: Oath ceremony

tell her to apply for a Visitor Visa instead of petitioning her.

04/09/10 - Sent AOS Package by snail mail

tell her to apply for a Visitor Visa instead of petitioning her.

But be careful, when/if she will apply for a tourist visa,to tell her that she will n o t work in the States, even for you!

Hi

IF you want her to inmigrate to USA, you have to start by filling your sister's petition, it is long time consuming, because it is a fourth preferences cathegory and based on you country you will have to wait till this visa turns available. but based in her current situation, there is no other way to bring your sister to inmigrate to USA.

but if you only want to bring her to visit you, she have to file for a nom imigrant visa in her contry.

Thanks to everybody.

My sister lives in Belgium and she is a citizen there. She just came to visit and she really like it here. Unfortunately I know how long it takes for a sister/brother petition to be approved that is why I thought maybe there is another way...... I guess she will remain in Belgium and she will come and visit.
