I can honestly say I have never read a post from someone so unbelievably impatient. I'm speechless.

Did you really call your congressman only one month after you sent your AOS package asking for your EAD to be expedited? And now it's been two and half months, and you called your congressman again because you don't have an interview appointment yet? Do you realize you've got another month and a half before you're at the normal processing time frame?

The best advice I can give you is to relax and wait. When it's been four months then try contacting USCIS. If you still haven't heard anything after a few more weeks then try an infopass appointment. If that hasn't produced any results after a few more weeks then you might consider calling your congressman's office. Calling your congressman's office after only one month is comparable to calling 911 because you need an aspirin. Besides being an unnecessary waste of their time, it diverts their attention from people with real immigration problems who desperately need their help.

Hey Jim,

Most individual compare their timelines here,....and the reason I wrote something was to get ideas...so take a chill pill and calm yourself down. You can wait all you want.

@ leighann, I see that you are also comparing yourself to other may folks...hopefully we hear something soon in Atlanta...Good luck to you..

Yeah...I am the only April flier that has not got an interview letter in the AOS from Work, students & Tourist Visa Group....hopefully better luck this week...for us..

Apparently Atlanta is one of the slower offices....ack! But the RFE didn't help us any either, I don't think. We just got our EAD today though so I'm not so worried about the interview for the time being.

Unfortunately for you, USCIS is not bound by the average of the timelines posted on VJ. They have a published processing window, and you're still well within it. Apparently, your congressman's office tried to tell you this, but you didn't want to listen. I think the one who needs to take a chill pill is the one who called their congressman to fix a problem that didn't exist yet.

Jim,

Try to move on with your life...FYI, my congressman's staff is currently working on it..I don't where you are getting your moronic info from. BTW, i got the idea to contact my congressman from the visajourney forum.... and it worked, I was able to get my EAD card and work to get an income to support my my kids...okay. By law, federal agencies have to get back to congressman inquiry with 3-7 business days...Where in God's name are you getting your info....You can sit on your butt and wait to get a response from DHS...TO EACH HIS OWN.

Thanks for the heads Up

So my 20 something year old congressman staff finally got a response from USCIS. Apparently, 2 weeks after I completed my biometrics, they sent my file to the Atlanta Field office and they were supposed to send out an interview notice to me...but forgot or something happen. Anyways I am happy to report that they gave me an interview date of August 25th 2010 and I should be getting my notice in the mail. Thank god....do not underestimate my congressman's reach....

Hi Badass,

I have a question regarding your EAD card. It looks like my husband is adjusting the same way you are. He got a CA driver licence because he was pulled over and the cop said he had to have one when he showed up in court for his ticket. Anyway, it expires when his I-94 does at the end of the month and they will not renew it. I need him to have the licence for insurance purposes, silly me, I want him covered in case of an accident so he won't be a burden on our system. I can't get him insured on my cars with his Australian licence.

Was there a validity date on the EAD and if so, how long did they give you? I was wondering if a dmv drone here may accept that if I can get his EAD expediated. It would be great for him to be able to legally work.

Thanks!
