July 2010 NVC thread!

Yeah, not to big on a decrease. Still would pay shipping fees of documents though :P. On the other hand, the passport goes up in price. Which sucks because I need a new one with my married name so I will need to pay the extra for having to change it. I though it was interesting the right now, it is free to drop your USC title but after July 13th, it will be $450!

Eeeeep! Apparently I was blind before. The fee went from $400 to $355 but the security fee went from $45 to $74. So the new fee is : $404 instead of $400. Nevermind....no one saves anything. They just get to pay $4 more but the weight of where it is going has changed. Yikes! Man....that totally sucks!!!! Yikes!!!! They are increasing the $70 AOS fee to $88! :angry: Ok, I retract my earlier statements :blush: , I am glad I paid ahead of time. Poor every one who is still waiting!

-NVC operator told me what my RFE's are: 11/8/10

hmmm ok so i saved 18 dollars... i think i'l save 18 bucks ...when my wife enters we'l go for movie the next day. 9$ each ticket= 18 bucks. and i'l say that NVC gave us 2 free movie tickets.

Sorry to hear that David & Beng! I hope they get it figured out quickly for you.

Waiter- Go ahead and pay the bill. The AOS bill should clear soon. That is good that your DS3032 cleared and they are letting you pay the IV bill now! Hopefully you will be able to send off all of your papers soon and be done with the process and just waiting for an interview!

Hubby just called NVC but still no case number yet.

Hope NVC won't put more obstacles on our way ahead.

While waiting for the case no., here is the list of documents to be sent with DS-230:

1. 2 passport style photos

2. Part 1 completed & signed and Part 2 completed but unsigned form DS-230

3. Birth cert. of the beneficiary and a copy

4. Marriage cert. and a copy

5. copy of biographic data page of passport (beneficiary)

no PCC will be sent with the packet as this will be sent to the Consulate directly from the Police.

As far as documents, looks good. The other things to go along with the DS230 packet are the barcoded PAID cover sheet from the online payment portal and your own cover sheet stating what can be found inside your packet.

Lucky you that the PCC goes directly to the consulate. One less thing to have to worry about sending.

Yeah, I am all ready with my DS-230 and had send the police report to NVC. Still waiting for the police report to get to me from Saudi Arabia! :(

Can you believe this: To FedEx an envelop from Saudi to the USA is $120 :(

How is that possible? My husband FedEx-ed a bunch of papers from the US to India and it cost $50.

You can try USPS Express Mail. That's cheaper.
