My fiance is from Thailand, and she's filling out her G-325A. For her last 5 residences question, she listed the two addresses in Thailand she lived at (present address + one previous address). Does she still need to fill out the next section titled "Applicant's last address outside the United States of more than 1 year"? I advised her to put 'None'. She was an AuPair, and has been in Thailand for <1 year, and her Thai addresses are listed in the section above. Does anyone think this'll be a problem?

Thanks,

-Brett

I think the answer is incorrect. I cannot be sure if it is a "problem." I think she needs to put an answer in the question you refer to. It sounds like she was an au pair in the US and then moved back to Thailand. She has been in Thailand for less than one year. So the correct answer to the question is the address in Thailand before leaving Thailand and was at the address for more than one year.

Good luck.

If she has ever lived anywhere outside the United States for more than 1 year then "none" is the wrong answer.

"None" is never the right answer to that question for a foreigner. Otherwise they wouldn't be a foreigner. Also, the G325a doesn't ask for the last five addresses. It asks for the last five years of residence addresses. Read questions carefully, interpret literally and answer accurately.

Alright, I had her change her answer for that question. You guys are confusing me--last 5 residences != last 5 addresses? I had her include the 3 addresses/residences she stayed with in the US during her AuPair program as well as her residence in Thailand with her family. Is this not right?

What they are trying to say is that the G-325A is asking you to list her residences in the LAST 5 YEARS.

If she lived at one address for the past 5 years, you would only list that one. If she lived at two/more addresses, you would only list those that fall WITHIN the 5 year time frame.

Basically... where did she live from 2005-2010?

Hope that helps!

No, you are confusing yourself because you are not reading carefully, interpreting literally and answering accurately.

This is what is written on the G325a. "Applicant's residence last five years. List present address first." It means exactly what it says.

I was following this topic because I am about to fill up the G-325a too. I understand what to write in "Apllicant's residence last 5 years..." how about in the next one: "Applicant's last address outside the US of more than 1 year". I live in the same address and never worked abroad should I typed in the same address??? Or put n/a????

We just put Sifa's last address in Kenya there, even though it was also listed in the address section before that. No problems arose.
