Dammit, that looked much better when I pasted it into Fast Reply. Anyway, there are just a bunch of blank lines under the "Show: " line. I have been told it is a Google Chrome thing.

On another note, my sequence of the "View New Content" posts is still all screwed up, not really chronological. Except for about once every 20 minutes.

I run an update script every 20 minutes to re-index. I could update that frequency later today.

I am not understanding what is happening then... so every 20 minutes the list is in order when the query runs, then if we check between times it gets spread accross pages...

I am not sure why that would occur. Simply what should happen is new posts/topics are only indexed every 20 minutes.

The view new content screen seems to work for me. Can you take a screen shot and show me what you are seeing.

Something separate from the above that might be easy to do, Admiral: Can you please background-shade (or something) the Pinned threads within each forum? They're hard to distinguish from the deciduous threads. Gracias, si man.

I THINK (just speculation) that what may be happening, is it keeps its place overall from the last indexing, but because someone posted something new, it has a more recent post time and thus it looks out of place until the re-indexing is done. Not sure why it shows at the top of the page, though, that doesn't really fit in with this theory unless each page is sorted by time of last post in real-time.

Did any of that make any sense?

Anyway, if reindexing were done more often, would that slow down VJ noticeably?

Thats what its doing to me... every so often they will all be in chronological order accross the pages...

then if I look again... the recents begin to populate at the top of each page rather than at the top of page 1...

Yup. And some threads duplicate in later pages, making me think I am going crazy. Crazier. Whichever.

I actually do like that idea though.

Gracias, si man... uh, si mujer... uh, er, si, uh, man (you're entitled to look it up, because you ARE somewhat of a rubia, after all). The term "deciduous" fits because the pinned threads are evergreen, right man?

I updated the indexing to every 12 minutes from every 20 minutes.
