Okay get this .... I just got a call this morning from the USCIS .....The lady called to apologize , yesterday when they got the request for expedite she said she made a mistake and hit the wrong button ....

So , the request for expedite was APPROVED ....she said she felt bad she had tried to call me yesterday (I was out) and she said this was the first thing she had to do this morning was to call us and let us know .....OMG this is great news ...wahoooo

Great news indeed, congrats! I know when it comes to immigration every single case is different, but this does encourage me to try once my wife's AOS is approved.

Cheers

Hey Todd, I am in the exact same situation, my wife has her interview on 8/24. Let me know what you find out as I know exactly the situation you are living right now.

Best of Luck!

Your timeline is like Dejavu  How old are the child/ren on your I-130?

In our case we would have been done by Dec 2007 for the kids but with the holidays and an RFE for Permission from the mom we had our interview in Bogota for the kids 2/14/08. Dad was under name check for approx 30 days so the 24th ( August 2007 ) was approved and them Name check done by 9/21/07.

PS with the electronic processing though the case will blast through NVC if you have all docs ready to go. We did it all snail mail and a few shortcuts from James :) The boys when they had the interview were 11 and 16

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Thanks

Hi, the kids are 7, 11, and 13. Do you know if they would ask for one permission per kid? We currently have one that names the three kids...

Thanks

We sent one for each of the 2 we had, also check with DAS about them exiting Colombia here is some info from the colmbian embassy here in NY it is in Spanish :). Permission

Is the permission notorized? As this will be requested when you send the DS-230 to NVC most likley. I have read that sometimes people get an RFE for not sending and them other do not have it Requested.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Yeap, the father did it at the "notaria". And yeah, we are waiting for the interview date to get the other permits to show DAS, I believe those have to be within a specific time so we will wait to get them.

ODD that you have not gotten the approval on the I-130's by now? Yes the permission I beleive has to be less than 60 days old, or at least it is like that when we send the little one to Colombia.

Since it has not been 5-6 months calling may be just a waste of time. I doubt they are waiting on wifes interview though as our boys got the approval right around the time we got the interview notice for hubby . Mind you this was 3 years ago so things migh have changed. Can not get on to check processing times though to see what they processing as far as the I-130.

yup - search 'NVC supervisor sue' here , using the search tool, should bring up some mini 'how-to' for what other people have done.
