I entered the US on a K1 visa 2 weeks ago. Now me and my fiancee have changed home (different place from the address we wrote in all the forms requesting my visa + in the I94 when I arrived). We haven't married yet, therefore I haven't sent my papers to adjust my status.

Do I have to report my change of address? To whom? with what form?

Thank you for your answers.

Yes. You have 10 days from moving to change your address: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

If ICE or someone tries looking for you (highly extremely unlikely) and they go to your old address and you're not there you will get in LOTS of shite. So... follow the instructions of the link I provided above.

Alright, ty for the information.

I actually have two more questions:

1. do I have a case pending with USCIS? I mean, I'm not waiting for anything from them at the moment bc I haven't filed for AOS yet, but should I still do the dual process thing?

2. in the Ar-11 form they want the "copy number from alien card": what's that?

Thank you again.

Ciao Steabba,

I am from Italy too. I know you don't have any case pending, but I am assuming you had to indicate the address you were going to stay at when you filed the form on the plane, right? That's why I think it's best to still notify of a change of address. When you file for AOS, just use the new address all over and youw ill have no problem there.

What I see on the form is that it asks for your A number. Check your NOA2 from your K1 above the beneficiaries name, that is your Alien Number. It is not the red number on your visa, so be careful.

Your A number is what you will use all along in the AOS process, so it is important to have it handy.

Let me know if you have other questions! When are you guys getting married?

We have moved address too, but that was since we filed for the I-129F and since I recieved the visa. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. The address you give at POE is just your customs and departure cards (I-94) to record when you leave. In your new application for AOS, I would just list your new address on all forms and include a cover letter showing your A number so that it will be easily matched to your K1 file. I got this advice from some other reliable people on here but our US adress changed quite a few months ago now, not recently. Hope that helps! Good luck

we're in the same situation. the officers at our POE told us to just put our new address when we file AOS because doing a change of address before could cause confusion. so, that's what we did and no problems so far. all appointment letters have been mailed to our new address

I just called USCIS and they basically warned me to change my address within 10 days upon moving, otherwise I could face "fines and deportation" (verbatim)...

I checked my NOA2 but I don't see any numbers or codes.

Meanwhile, I also asked if the petitioner of my K1 visa has to notify her change of address, and the totally incompetent person who answered the phone said "yes if she's here on a tourist visa or on a work visa"...I mean, do American taxpayers really pay for this bullshit?

Any ideas?

Mmmmmm I don't have my noa2 with me but when I go home (I'm at the inlaws' right now) I can scan it to show you where the number is...it MUST be there  trust me!

Your soon to be wife does not need to change her address. I would change yours like I said with that online form and then use the new address ALL OVER the forms for AOS. After all you guys live together now, right? So no need to send 2 change of address forms at all.

To answer your questions...yep, taxpayers do pay for those incompetent people too! But don't we all in Italy as well? ;)

Have a look at the AOS thread in my signature. There's a "definition of terms" section in the OP which has a link to an example NOA2 which will show you where the A number is.

Good luck :D
