The face to face interview will occur after the Consular Officer has studied all of the forms and evidence. The documents are not submitted at the same moment there is the face to face interview with the CO.
Again, this is not necessarily true. Please avoid stating absolutes on the basis of assumption.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Again, this is not necessarily true. Please avoid stating absolutes on the basis of assumption.

I simply would not believe anyone has had a face to face interview with a Consular Officer where the CO did not take 20 minutes or more to sit down and review the name checks, the police certificates, the medical exam report, the Affidavit of Support, all of the Visa Applications, reports of previous visa status and relatives on visas until the CO is at the window with the Alien beneficiary.

To say the I-134 when applicable is not adjudicated by DOS simply cannot be stated with any credibility as that is an enormous responsibility on the CO before granting the Visa. I am stating the obvious, the CO spends time reviewing the documents not in the presence of the Alien beneficiary. I do not think any reasonable member could deny this statement because one Alien beneficiary did not witness the adjudication themselves.

No assumptions here.

My interview happened a whopping 10 minutes or so after they got all my documents at the window, nothing was pre-sent in. Just saying...

Not every consulate does things the same.

I am sorry that you do not believe this was of any help. If you do not mind, I would appreciate it if you either post the outcome of your experience here after the interview or you can PM me if you do not want it public.

Thanks very much and good luck.

I didn't mean to sound ungrateful at all, I think the fact that each country seems to do this in a different way has muddied the waters somewhat. Plus I hadn't intended to start any heated debates!

Sure, I'll post the outcome up here when I have the interview.

10 minutes!

You had a long one.

All that hassle, all that waiting and a couple of minutes, 2 questions and thank you very much.

I had all my financial's, but all he did was take a quick glance at the the balance in my Current Account from the slip I hadobtained form the Cash Machine that morning. The only other thing was a single photo of both of us.

Hi all,

Just an update on this situation as it stands. Having sent a letter to the Embassy in London on May 23rd explaining the situation and just checking if they could extend the petition expiry date, I received a letter last week saying "We contacted you regarding the receipt of an approved petition etc etc have not yet heard from you, please get in touch by August 21st." Despite having definitely sent them a letter I'm not going to split hairs as it does at least show via this letter that they did extend the time anyway.

My fiance has just gotten a new job and starts next Monday so we're ready to get the wheels rolling again. Once she has the first couple of payslips, the I134 and the employer letter she's going to send them to me by express mail so I'll have all that by mid August. I just called the embassy on the switchboard number to see about what sort of timeframe we'd be looking at for an interview appointment to become available but the (it must be said) rude lady at the embassy told me they do not discuss that sort of thing on the telephone and I would have to write to say I was "ready for the interview process and they would get back to me in due course."

I'm going to write up a letter just now and send it special delivery (seeing as it seems the first one vanished or is lost in the embassy admin pile) - am I likely to be waiting quite a long time to hear back from them? I've no idea what sort of working time there is for the interviews but I'll need to know asap to book time of work (they are very picky about me giving them 4-6 weeks notice). What sort of wait did any other London Embassy users have before hearing back?

Cheers.
