Bad bad bad news regarding Climate

All of you out there in the USA and across the globe who have fought so hard to tackle the hideous enemy of our planet, namely carbon emissions, you know ....that bogus god you worship of "climate change" or "global warming" ....well, I feel it is necessary to inform you of some bad news. It really does pain me to have to bring you this disappointing information.

Are you sitting down?

Okay, here's the bombshell. The current volcanic eruption going on in Iceland, since its first spewing of volcanic ash in the past weeks, has, to this point, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet.

I know, I know.... (group hug)...it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of: driving hybrid cars, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kid's "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet cistern, selling your SUV and speedboat, going on vacation to a park, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your $1 light bulbs with $10 light bulbs ...well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tube in the past weeks.

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And, those American jobs you helped move to Asia with expensive emissions demands on businesses... you know, the ones that are creating even more emissions than when they were creating American jobs, well I just know that seems worthwhile now.

I'm so sorry! I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud but the fact of the matter is that, this will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two years.

But hey, grab a drink, give the world a hug and have a nice day!

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Don't be silly, its a completely different kind of carbon of course...

blink.gif A different Carbon? Wow.. aside from the carbon atom with an atomic number of 6... where is another carbon?. periodic-table-fix.jpg

It is? How many different kinds of CO2 are there?

Carbon-12 is the more abundant of the two stable isotopes of the element carbon, accounting for 98.89% of carbon; it contains 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons.

Carbon-13 (13C) is a natural, stable isotope of carbon and one of the environmental isotopes. It makes up about 1.1% of all natural carbon on Earth.

Carbon-14, 14C, or radiocarbon, is a radioactive isotope of carbon with a nucleus containing 6 protons and 8 neutrons. Its presence in organic materials is the basis of the radiocarbon dating method to date archaeological, geological, and hydrogeological samples.

Actually he said CO2

And what does the isotope of the carbon released by the volcano have to do with anything?

No studies that I know, of have been done with regards to the breakdown rates of greenhouse gases with regard to isotope decay rates....

The OP was saying that the CO2 emissions from the volcano in Iceland had negated all the efforts to reduce greenhouse gases.

Deep earth CO2 is a different isotope of carbon than atmospheric CO2...

biogenic sources of CO2 are rich in Carbon 14 where as magmatic origins are not...

Facts don't matter...... only how you feel about a problem.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
