Hello all,

I have my interview on May 27th 2010 and I am really nervous about it. I got married on Feb 5th 2010 but I have been dating my wife since December of 2004. My wife is the USC. I submitted my packet in March of 2010 and was excited and concerned at the same time when the notice of the interview came. This is because I have not received my EAD yet but the notice for interview came WAY sooner than expected.

I was wondering if any one had any pointers or has had an interview recently in the Dallas Tx office and could offer some words of wisdom.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't but check out the reviews here:

I'm sure you'll be fine. Just make sure you have all your relationship and co-mingling evidence all together.

Best of luck :)

Sometimes it happens that the AOS application is processed very quickly, more quickly than the EAD and the AP applications (which are separated from the AOS package and processed separately). A speedy AOS interview or processing is a good thing even if you end up getting your green card before the EAD and AP (which, of course, you will no longer need:) ). As Vanessa and Tony said, gather your evidence. Bring the originals of what you submitted as copies in the actual application, and add to it any additional evidence that you have gathered since the application was sent in.

Good luck :) .

Hello all,

I have my interview on May 27th 2010 and I am really nervous about it. I got married on Feb 5th 2010 but I have been dating my wife since December of 2004. My wife is the USC. I submitted my packet in March of 2010 and was excited and concerned at the same time when the notice of the interview came. I was wondering if any one had any pointers or has had an interview recently in the Dallas Tx office and could offer some words of wisdom.

Thanks in advance.

If you look at my signature, I received my EAD out of blue (without any prior email, text or letter) just 2 weeks before the interview. I thought I would never get it before it arrived like that. Apparently most of VJers got their EADs before their interviews. I was worried too and thought they didn't want to approve it till they see me in person at the interview. Something like that. Well, like Kathryn41 said, they are being handled separately. Anyway, contrary to my paranoia (and I collected tons of evidence... seriously, tons, and even 2 affidavits from family and friend... that's how paranoid I was), my wife believed that I shouldn't have any problem when the EAD arrived. She took it as a good sign. I didn't.

And guess what? We walked out of the IO's office in 15 minutes.

The point is that it doesn't matter whether or not you receive the EAD in time. It is the interview that matters. You shouldn't have any problem.

And like Vanessa&Tony suggested, check out the reviews on your local USCIS interviews. They're tremendously helpful. Even though there weren't many (because there aren't many applying for AOS) here, whenever I felt like I needed some kind of guidelines or what to look for, I kept going back to the reviews. Mine was Albuquerque, NM.

Cheers.

Yes! I am approved!!! :)

It took only two (2) months to be approved. Hooray!

Thanks to everyone for their words of wisdom,I will just sit tight and take all the evidence that I have and pray to God for the best. I was really worried about everything but apparently that will get you no where.

Thanks again guys
