So frustrated with the operators at the NVC. There is a checklist coming for the Italy police certificate although on the first checklist, the one for the DS-230 form, it writes "police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided more than 12 months." My mom worked in Italy for 9 months. We inquired about this police certificate before we submitted the package and we were told that they would only require it for living there for 12 months. They have now sent the case to be reviewed by a supervisor... Overzealous operators, hate them just about now.

Congratulations. I'm really frustrated, but I can imagine how happy you are to know that you can go there and be with your husband until the interview. Or if you leave before, to know that he will follow you shortly.

Thank You!!! Yes, I'm going to leave in a few weeks. I can hardly wait to get there I won't come home til the first week of August. So, hopefully it works out so, he can come home too. I haven't been keeping up lately. What's frustrating you?

Thank you!

what is 221(g) slip?

It means the case require "additional processing" so the embassy don't have a decision yet at the interview. The other member said they are just waiting for a call from the Hong Kong embassy...I'm just so worried...

I am not sure on this one. I spoke to 3 different operators before I found out exactly what they needed from us. The first told me my hubby's birth cert was wrong. The next said no it was the marriage cert, but wasn't sure what the problem was. Finally the 3rd said they needed the original of our muslim marriage cert or contract as most call it.

I went immediately to UPS and sent the original (although I didn't want to because I can't get a replacement). I used the cover sheet for the DS230 and they received it ok, but it still took a little time that we hated to lose!

Maybe you could call back and ask another operator. If you sent originals to begin with, they should be able to work this out for you... but who knows! But I would make sure about which documents they need before I sent anything.

Hope I helped some how!

Thank you for your help. I think I will just wait until the review is complete.

Hey, nice to see another CR-1 from Russia.

The end of the story is you're probably going to have to wait whatever the reason is.

Anyway, I wouldn't bother sending in the same documents. If anything, it'll probably confuse them. Sadly you may have to wait for the review. If they're expecting different documents, they'll eventually tell you; just make sure you keep on top of them til they give you an answer after those 10 days are up.

I also had my attorney call and talk to a supervisor. It looks like no matter what we will have to wait at least 10 days which is very frustrating because we might miss July interview.

OMG! I'm worried too! My husby is very busy, he can't come back to hk to have interview with me. Did u know why they need to wait? Is that any problems during the interview or the problems of the proof for their relationship?
