My interview is on May 5th. It's at 8.30 am and I want to leave the country at 12.30pm. The flight for the next day is already 250 bucks more. Shouldn't be more than 2 hours, right? As long as I'm out by 11am, I'm still ok.

You should be ok. People report the interview lasts max 20 minutes in most cases.

Since your interview time is early they are unlikely to be running late. The interview itself is about 10 to 20 minutes depending on the interviewer so you should be able to make your 12:30 flight if you don't have a long way to travel to the airport. You should be done long before 11 am.

Cutting it close, we had to wait over an hour from our appointed time with a 43 minute interview. Then you don't mention which field office you are at, parking, downtown traffic, checking to make sure you got all of your evidence back. Your question is one of pure luck, good luck. Could mention you have a plane to catch, but that could be good or bad depending on which side of the bed they got up on that morning.

Don't have to explain the airline rates, doesn't make a bit of sense to anyone of us, think they pull the prices out of a hat.

Just remember if offered to take the oath on the same day - say NO

Once oath is taken, you will become a USC and you will need to use a US passport to leave/enter the US.... a small yet very important detail.

My interview took 45 minutes because the interviewer had to run some name checks while interviewing me (the person that supposed to did not run all name options) then I had to wait another 45 minutes to get the oath letter (this was because I had the chance to take the oath the same week).
