Hi

Probably this is not the right forum to ask this question, but I just would like to know if somebody has hired before this lawyer: Caridad Pastor Cardinale, in Troy, Michigan. If so, What references could you provide about her?

Thank you!

Don't know about your prospective lawyer, but uscis website had this link to the List of disciplined lawyers: http://www.justice.gov/eoir/profcond/chart.htm

and also http://www.abanet.org/ American bar association where you should be able to look up info on your prospective lawyer.

We just hired this lawyer. Don't know much about her other than that some friends recommended her to us. One thing I have noticed is that she does not respond to my emails. However this could be because she is so busy. My wife met her and told me that she seems capable.

I would be concerned that, if she is too busy to respond to your emails, she is too busy to make sure your forms are filled out and submitted ASAP. My lawyer is very good, but in the end, they lost a lawyer in the firm, and them being too busy cost me a total of 3.5 months so far. I have basically taken over the process from her now. Oh, and she did not have time to research how the documents were different for Canada (she deals mostly with Mexicans, of course, being in Houston), and I had to tell her (20 days after the change) that the K3 was, for all intents and purposes, closed.

Not a good sign. Just stay on top of the paperwork yourself. Review everything that is filed.
