Vaccinations are never bad :) Especially the ones that immigration request. Just keep the record because some of them will expire in one ,five and 10 years.

Same situation here, I have some records from my country, but the doctor said "this is nothing" and gave me back the paperwork. So anyhow I have to go again and see my TB test and get results for the bloodwork. The doctor said that I need to do MMR, Varicella and TD. I got a proof that I had TD done for my University when I first came to US 2003, and then I did not connect the dots that Varicella was the same thing like chicken pox which I have had when I was a child (I have the small scars in my face to prove it). So where do I get the MMR shot done, I live in NYC. I have to go today to Doc's office to get the TB test read and maybe the blood work (Doc never explained what she was testing with it.

Do we get any copy of anything they said or tests done? This doctor is not very good, regret going to this one. I wish I can take my money back and leave asap.

I didn't know you could get the shots done elsewhere.... that's annoying, it cost me a freaking fortune to get them all.

I have vaccination records in Ireland because I've had all my shots, but the stupid Irish Health Dept "mislaid" them, and it was taking them ages to locate them (I was already 2 months out of status) so I eventually just went ahead and got all the shots again. The doctor insisted on giving me the HPV vaccine as well, even though I've read it's no longer required and I said that to her. She was like, "I've never heard of that. You definitely need to get it," so I had to get it and it made me sick. :(

I came up positive for the TB test but she didn't made me go for x-rays or anything, just signed off on it as negative... I did tell her I'd had the BCG or whatever, so I guess she realized it was a false positive (or whatever they call those things).

I have my medical exam here tomorrow. My Mum managed to get a report from my GP back home in Edinburgh but doesn't have any vaccination details. I do have a vaccination card though that states I have had Tetanus, Hep A, Hep B, etc (hand written only) and the dates I got them, so hopefully that will do. I know I had chicken pox when I was young and because I am from the UK I have had the MMR, BCG, etc so I am hoping that my verbal confirmation is good enough - I do have the BCG scar and a few chicken pox scars which I can prove if necessary  I have been told the basic medical exam will be $179 and if I need any more vaccinations it will cost a bit more.

TD vaccine needs to be within the las 10 years otherwise have to do it again. Varicella )chicken pox is ok if you say you had it just remember the age. I had BCG vaccine done too, the TB test was negative (no reaction to it) but with BCG vaccine sometimes is positive and have to do x-ray.

The panel physician who does a US immigration medical does not. They are performing a service for the embassy/consulate. No doctor/patient relationship is created and they are not obligated to tell you squat. This from the legalese I had to sign at Vancouver, Canada last year.

On USCIS website it says:

"The civil surgeon must also give you a copy of the completed and signed Form I-693 and any supporting documentation submitted to USCIS to you for your records."

I received a complete copy of the form, vaccinations record and x-ray.

I don't know how in Canada but in US it's sealed because you are not supposed to CORRECT anything. It's easy to put a mark in any box.Doctors are responsible for information that's why it's sealed.

You have the right to know all information submitted in that form and they MUST give you a whole copy.

I just got back from the Civil Surgeon for my hubby, he had no records with him from egypt. He just needs to get a MMR, Tetanus, and chicken pox. We called the board of health and can get the MMR and Tetanus for 10.00 each but the stupid chicken pox is 91.00. He could not recall if he had them as a child or not. Wish he would have said yes. Both my kids have had chicken pox vaccine and both got chicken pox last year so I don't know how good that vaccine is. Over all the appointment was fast and easy. The lady at the desk said monday after they check to TB she will give us everything in a seal enveloped, taped up and signed by the DR on the back. She also said she will give us a copy for our records.

You'll be fine :)

do they ever require more blood work on the second visit, or is that just for the x-rays and results?

If they already did a blood test, then they don't need to do another one. Unless there's a problem with the first one, I guess. I went back 4 separate times for shots and stuff, and they never did another blood test.

Well I am just back from my medical exam. I was in for over 2 hours :o I got an MMR shot, the TB skin test and a blood test for syphillis (sp.) It cost $176. I now have to go back on Monday for my results which I am not worried about at all B-) The doctor asked if I had chicken pox in the past and I said yes and he said that that was fine. Hopefully everything comes back all clear and I can send away my AOS application on Monday.
