So I received the ROC reminder from USCIS and they sent it to our old address even though I sent the AR-11 and changed address online in november 2009 after we moved. It worries me because I will be sending my ROC paperwork in may. Calling USCIS does not help. They say they can only confirm the Sponsor's address and Daniel's address is updated. We received a notice confirming change of address for him but not for the beneficiary (USCIS does not send it).

What should I do? Is an infopass the only option I have? I have the receipt saved for the AR-11 I sent to USCIS in november. What do you say?

Mod-please move it to the appropriate forum if this is not it.

I just read this in the April filers thread; might help ease your mind :)

We'll be sending our papers in 10 days. Waiting for the right date.

I was surprised though, last week we received a simple letter from USCIS reminding us to remove the conditions. I was always told that they did not do that. It was a nice surprise, well except that they never updated our change of address (even though I did the forms and all). So I called and they said that as long as I put our right address on the new forms we'll send to remove conditions, then it's not an issue at all.

So much for pressuring people to do the change of address!

You should nothing. I see this topic like every other week here.

I don't know why, but USCIS send reminder to the address when you filed AOS with that address.

And I don't see anyone had problem with that on ROC filing with new address.

You'll be finesmile.gif !!

Thanks OBX. I will call them just one more time to confirm. You know how it is with the misinformation center :P but it does put my mind at ease knowing that its not that big of a deal.

No problem. :)

I'm a year away from ROC and I'm starting to stress already. :bonk:

I too start to believe that the change of address doesn't matter at all.

I changed my address in 2008 , never got a reciept or anything that said they "got it".

Now I filed for ROC in February and listed our APO address as mailing address and additionally our german residence address.

Guess what- I got two NOA, one to the APO and one to the german address. Wait- on the letter it had the german address and then they put a sticker on the envelope to cover that up and put my APO on it..LOL

I don't know about these people...but I think you will be fine just using your current address when you file for ROC!:-)

No worries. I did the address change aswell and got confirmation but the reminder from uscis was forwarded to us from our old address. I filed I-751 on 3-23-10 and got my NOA on 4-3-10. So long as you put your current address on all your correspondence, you will receive all necessary mailing without hitches. Good luck.

FYI I did the AR-11 for the 3 immigrants in my house in OCT of 2008. All 3 ROC reminder letters went to the old address in mid and end of 2009 ) , however once we filed the I-751 with the correct address all NOA's and GC came to the correct address. That's the USCIS for YA

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

They are infamous for this.... 99% of people who moved and filed AR-11 got a reminder letter at their old address. I beleive they pull the address from the AOS application although they seem to have a system to update that - oh well - silly USCIS!!! But as others have said, you don't need to do anything. If you call them, their response will be is that they cannot pull any information on your A# unless you have a pending application with them. Then you will ask them about the fact that the wrong address is used that that is when they tell you some bad advice.

As long as you filed AR-11 and have a copy with you - then you should be OK. Also, when you file your ROC - the address they will use is the one on the I-751 application.
