Hey, guys!

I went to the asc office to have biometrics this morning. Guess what? I did, yay!! :dance:

I arrived right after they open the door. It was already lots of ppl.(shock!) The security guy asked me to show id and a notice. He asked me that I have plan to travel. I kinda hesitate to answer. He said I need to talk to superviser because my appt day is far behind.

After 15 minutes, he called to superviser and he let me fill out a form.

So guys!

When you get a biometrics notice, just go ahead and try. Nothing to lose.

Hopefully I will get mine this week. What kind of form did you need to fill out? Was that form only if you did walk in?

You should be receiving your interview letter in 2 weeks hopefully.

Its a gamble, but maybe your right, maybe waiting for the whole thing and then submitting it all together could have taken later then getting a RFE and submitting it now. Well be sure to go to a civil

We sent our package off last Tuesday. It was received on Wednesday at 9:22 AM. Now we are impatiently waiting for the email.

This has been a long time coming. We weren't planning on going AOS, but it happened that way. It was a sort of last minute decision to do it this way because we didn't think we could, so I'm just praying and hoping I did everything right. I wasn't as well educated about this route.

Now I can't figure out how to update my timeline. We don't fit "came on a non-immigrant visa; married a US citizen; AOS." We've been married for a while and lived together abroad, but my husband finally fulfilled his obligations abroad and was ready for us to start the process and came for a visit before we did. Once he got here, friends kept pressing us that we could and should AOS. We both thought we couldn't but finally began investigating. We even made an infopass. Everything confirmed we could and should, so we have applied. Fingers crossed.

AOS Timeline

4/14/10 - Packet received at Chicago Lockbox at 9:22 AM (Day 1)

4/24/10 - Received hardcopy NOAs (Day 10)

5/14/10 - Biometrics taken. (Day 31)

5/29/10 - Interview letter received 6/30 at 10:30 (Day 46)

6/30/10 - Interview: 10:30 (Day 77) APPROVED!!!

6/30/10 - EAD received in the mail

7/19/10 - GC in hand! (Day 96) .

Hopefully I will get mine this week. What kind of form did you need to fill out? Was that form only if you did walk in?

You should be receiving your interview letter in 2 weeks hopefully.

The form was basically asking about my info such as name, DOB, etc and biometrics for what.

In our case, just need to circle on I-485 and I-765.

Wow~, you are anticipated to receiving an interview letter within 2 weeks? That'll be awesome. Hopefully, that becomes real.

BTW, you'll get it soon. I'll pray for you and all our fellows.

I want to tell you my experience with biometrics walk in.

I came to the ASC with my husband at 7.45 am.

There were already a lot of people (20). We waited in line and then I gave the officer my letter with ID and passport. He said "Step aside for a while.Your appointment is not today." I waited about 30 minutes and then he checked my marriage certificate(original)and let me in (not my husband).They allowed only the applicants in. During that 30 minutes some people came with other date for appointment but he said "Come back on your appointment day."

I felt so happy that I was the first out of "not today" people. It took about 20 minutes to take fingerprints and picture. I filled out a form in the beginning and yellow customer satisfaction form in the end).

If you guys decide to go before the actual date, go early!! Good luck!

I am so happy for everyone.. I swear I am coming.. sooooon. Sending everything out in the next day or so. I think I just need to duct tape the kids to the wall so I can have some peace and quiet to go over everything with Walaa.

I sent the package on Saturday and it was signed for today. I just hope I don't get any RFEs and it just goes smoothly.

Hello,

It is not a secret that Early walk in for Bio could be accepted, but some people still get rejected sometimes and I wanted to shared some tip from my experience.

I am USC petitioner for my wife and I did Bio 3 times. (last one was for my wife's case)

1, GC renewal - 5 years ago, I went there around noon time with early walk-in. There were literally no one, so accepted.

2, Naturalization - a year ago, I went there around noon time with early walk-in again. There were literally no one, so accepted.

3, GC - about a month ago, she went there around noon time with early walk-in. There were literally no one, so accepted.

No questions were even asked.

It could depend on your AOS office, but as all people know about early walk-in, people tend to go to AOS office first thing in the morning.

However USCIS take consideration of size of office and number workers there, and distribute applicants to be taken bio in timely manner (so they say), so technically there should be same number of people in room anytime you go there.

My case, no one there when I and my wife showed up at AOS office in noon time, it seems like most of people showed up first thing in the morning, includes people who had an appointment on same day, but later.

This is just based on my experience, so it may not work to all, but might be worse give a try if you were rejected once.
