How are all of you with interview dates handling this move?

For me, I did move out of my house and am selling my stuff but I still haven't rid myself of everything. I have my car, haven't quit my job and to be honest they have no idea when I'm leaving. I will give them four weeks notice as per my contract but only AFTER I receive the visa (God willing). Just curious. Are you saying your goodbyes now and booking your tickets already?

For me, it's not that big of a deal. I lived for four years in the U.S.--all my stuff is already there in Michigan with The Husband. So I'm not taking anything apart from one suitcase (with some basic necessities and a few clothes that I got back home from the U.S. last summer) and my laptop. I am working a couple of odd temporary jobs which I'm quitting right before the interview. Everyone has been notified and have been aware of the situation right from the beginning.

I'm living with my parents so that's no issue. Basically I moved back home to get married and wait out this visa process.

Which might have been the stupidest decision we ever made because I could've just adjusted my status off my F-1. :bonk:

I'm going to buy the tickets this weekend while seats are still available and prices are reasonable. 19th May seems to be the safest option so far.

But yea, I imagine the move is going to be hard for those with houses/stuff/cars to sell and permanent jobs to quit.

I know that you're ... :bonk: ... about your decision to not adjust but I've seen your wedding pics and they're magical. Don't ever regret that choice.

Yes, it was hard to give up the house. My last bastion of freedom. I love my job and I earn much more here than I would in the US so I plan on doing another degree and let the husband support me for a bit. I couldn't adjust because I had a whole life waiting for me back home and I couldn't put it on hold for months. Our marriage really was spontaneous but I did have my dream wedding. We eloped to Vegas and Elvis walked me down the aisle.

I don't plan hopping on a plane as soon as I get my visa - wish I did have that luxury but I am happy for those that are able to (and a little envious) ... :star:
