I can attest that we are a godless house, but not a gunless house.

I am not sure exactly where God comes into it, but guns definitely helped in booting the Brits out...twice. They are like our "mother country" and as such we love them, but we do not want to live with them. A long distance call and an occasional visit will do nicely, thank you.

we go to Canada, a lot. It is real close by our house. First time Alla drives there by herself (she was so proud to be driving her own car across an international border with her shiny new Green Card.) At Duoanes, it goes somthing like this...

"Do you have any guns?"

"Yes"

"What?"

"What?"

"You have guns?"

"Yes" :innocent:

"where are these guns?"

"um, uh, well...some are in the closet, there is one behind the kitchen door and some others around other places"

"Are they with you?"

"What?"

"Do you have the guns with you?"

"Here?"

"Yes, in Canada"

"No, do I need to have one? I am coming back soon and can return it if you give me one" :innocent:

"Go on...maybe you need them in Vermont, you will not need them in Montreal" :P

"Merci Beaucoup"

Soooo...what if I'm godless and gunless?

You will have pictures of the British Queen on all your money.

Oh Jeez.

Good to see that Brits are still nervous about getting their arses shot off. That's the idea.

Dave, how can you possibly compare the two statements?

GHWB was essentially telling an entire segment of the American people - atheists - that their right to citizenship should be forfeited, and that he questioned their loyalty. Somewhere between 1-5% of Americans (3million to 15million) identify themselves as atheists. These are voters, taxpayers, servicemen and women in our armed forces. But they should be ostracized according to GHWB because of their religious beliefs.

In contrast, Obama counted the number of Muslim-Americans, and WITHOUT rejecting them, WITHOUT considering them second-class citizens, claimed that America is stronger for their contribution to our multicultural society.

One looking for wedge issues to divide our people. The other looking to unify and celebrate diversity.

Great post.

As opposed to pictures of Jesus toting an AK-47 on the back of the American $1000 bill? :P

I'm sure the Queen knows how to fire a rifle though. It strikes me as something a queen would be taught.

Actually Gary, the idea (at least MY idea) was how lame that song is.

Don't get carried away Gary - you might think you are a clever, witty guy; but trust me - you ain't all that ;)

Good thing religion and politics have nothing to do with immigration interviews then.

There are people here who cannot look at a single, isolated issue without bringing in something totally irrelevant.

ain't that some sh|t ?

elsewhere, that's called thread drift, and if totally blatant, 'thread hijaaking'.

I gotta admit though - when the charts and graphs get slung, I laugh my @ss off.
