For now, be thankful it's not NEW AP.

It's the SAME AP.

prolonged, but still 'the same batch' - tied to current RFE.

IMO - you are lucky.

It could be something else, and it's NOT !

Hi Darnell,

Thanks for the info, but whats the same AP. When they specifically told him its over and he is legally able to come now? What would be the AP on the additional RFE? The only thing I could think of them is calling the states to confirm my wedding planning.

Hey Star...

Just read your thread and I can't believe all of the things the consulate is putting you and your fiancee through but I know you shall prevail and I see an April wedding in your future. I simply can't belive they will have you submit documents showig receipts for booked halls for your wedding and reception only to make you lose your deposit over some "ego" issue they carry at that consulate. It is perplexing to me about the entire visa process, but keep your faith and this to shall pass and you will be welcoming your fiancee to the USA. I will be praying for your success.

'the same AP' You've been in AP, this time, because of a further request for evidence.

'They' aren't finished with this. It's not enough to just 'accept the evidence'.

It has to be reviewed, then the casefile looked at , one more time, for completeness, for 'final review' .

Then some other magic stuff happens (back office operations, that I know nothing about)

and the visa stamp is printed and put on the passport,

then it's sent off to the mailroom for bundling (figure 3 days for that)

then you have that extra VFS stuff to go through for distribution and shipping. (no clue, about turn around time)

Try this on Monday? Call DOS Hotline, get a Human, and inquire on Case Status.

My point was - it's NOT SOMETHING NEW. It's the SAME AP, on the SAME PROCESS.

You can be happy happy joy joy it's NOT SOMETHING ELSE to worry about.

(No, I'm not being crass)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thank you dezaman for your encouraging words, and your prayers. It is crazy the things they are requesting, but we have not given up and have kept providing what they wanted. I guess an April wedding will be possible, just have to keep the faith. Sometimes I feel like giving up, but then there are wonderful people like you and others who come by and give their support which means a lot to me. As hard it does seem right now, but you are right that this too will pass. :star:

Thank you Darnell, for shedding more light on the process. But, I will not be able to inquire until Tuesday as their is an indian holiday and the consulate is closed. It's kind of cool, that they get the indian holidays off and the US holidays, but it sucks for us waiting.

Yeah, I guess I should not start freaking out, as they are just following the procedures and give them some more time.

When I called DOS last week. I spoke with about a total of 4 reps. Every rep I spoke with gave me similar, but different answers.

1. Told me they got confirmation of your wedding plans and everything looks good they do not need anything. And its a good sign they asked for his passport. Need to give the consulate at least two weeks.

2. Told me they got the documents and I am in administrative processing

3. They do not need anything now and everything looks good.

4. Just under administrative processing

To sum it up, everything looks good and I just need to wait. The consulate is able to provide more details, but I have not got an response to my inquiry yet. I just have to wait a bit longer.
