I cannot believe he didn't know that he had an aunt living illegally here in the USA, he's the president of the USA for crying out loud... nobody dug a little into his family's whereabouts and history??

Apparently Obama knows her quite well since he referred to her as "Aunti Zeituni" in his infamous memoir Dreams from My Father. You'd think a wealthy politician like Obama would be embarrassed to have such a close relative living illegally in the USA on the taxpayer's dime in a public housing project. I certainly know all my aunts and uncles, sure. Anybody know her position on his family tree. Is she a distant aunt, or immediate?

About his family in Africa living in a hut... come on.. people there live like that and have done so for centuries, he probably built the house with his own hands, it doesn't mean that he's incapable of anything just because he lives in a hut, it's by choice. Just because Westerners live in fancier houses certainly doesn't make us "better" in my eyes.

If she was an immediate aunt (sister of his father) it's a valid question. But since his father abandoned the family and they had lost contact it's understandable that no one knew about her. I simply cannot believe that if she is an immediate aunt that nobody did some background research and came to know about her status in the US.

No it is not. Do you invite family over under condition they show you their green cards? No matter how close they are it is not at all inconceivable that Obama would have no idea the legal status of his aunt.

Obviously her legal status has since been determined, undermining your second point, someone did discovery she is not here legally. Again, there is nothing about the situation indicating Obama knew of, should have known, or was in any way, shape, or form aware of his aunts legal status in this country.
