I didn't like the choice of couples. I always wanted

Kate and Sawyer

to be together.

yeah, but they were never really 'together' as he was just a filler because of the main love story...

The thing that annoys me about the ending is that they:

didn't explain a damn thing about the Island. The story was so character driven that the Island became irrelevant eventhough it was the focus of the entire story for the characters. They never 'explain' the black smoke. They never explain what the Island itself is or how it got there. It was all about the characters and their lives and then their journey to reunite with one another after their deaths (whenever they may have died). Kind of crappy... I know it was a character driven show, but still left most things completely unanswered.

so ugh imo.

right at the end?

yeah

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

The ending was pathetic. I spent 6 years following this show to learn about the island. In the end they threw away everything they built in 5 seasons to just say there's a light that's some sort of source everyone wants and it can't go out, and then as soon as Jack becomes the new Jacob he actually puts the light out by taking a cork out of a hole, then puts it back in and everything is fine??? There was ZERO explanation to the entire show and the whole flashsideways being limbo was completely unnecessary to the storyline. Pretty much all of this last season was superfluous to what we were interested in knowing and the show leaned heavily on emotions and forgot we wanted the whys and rhymes of the island and we got nothing!

I see the show as 3 different shows. Seasons 1 and 2 were mysterious and sort of scientific.

Season 3 we ignore as they admit they were sorta lost in the one 'cus they had to stall to stretch the series.

Season 4 and 5 were all about time travel and mysterious mystic stuff, but made sense in itself, although it wasn't too connected to the first 2 seasons.

And then season 6 sits out on it's own as religious babble that has no connection whatsoever to anything else that has happened.

So disappointing!

I was disapointed by the ending. I exepected Hurley to get the job and was rigt on that one, I didn't think Jack would keep the job.

The whole limbo thing, what's the point of that. Couldn't they just meet in heaven like everyone else? They have to live a parallel story to figure it out? Stupid.

And why didn't they answer any of the big questions. Oh let me guess, they'll do a book for us to buy maybe?

It became the whole classic good vs. evil and that's too cliche for the way the show started.

Oh and why did Jack survived the electromagnetic thing but then came out to die? What's with the bodies down there? And with is the smoke monster the only one who turned into that? I get it that Desmond is special and Jack had been chosen so maybe it doesn't apply to them, but come on. And really Jack, you couldn't drag yourself out of the pool, two more feet and you would have been fine.

Actually, what killed Jack was the stab wound Locke gave him.

I didn't mind the flash sideways - gave us something to wonder about all season and see how things could of been, or were, or whatever it was. I thought it was sweet that they held off crossing over until all were ready(although the religious aspect was a bit much). I was initially confused about Ben staying outside, but I guess that makes sense though - he was mostly an adversary.

I thought it was nicely done, the whole reencounter and getting their memory of their life back, it just was too much irrelevant information that had nothing to do with the rest of the series, and that they could have used that time to wrap up the story better. The whole island was explained in one flashback from Jacob and MIB and it was a lame explanation at that.

I agree the flash sideways was drawn out (I understand why) and that the island explanation was abruptly fleshed out. Almost like a cop out at the end. It did deserve more than an honorable mention. The memory part was sweet though, yeah :)
