Interview Experience- Santa Ana, CA

I had my interview on 1/29, I got to the office for my interview like 30 mins earlier, I didn't know there was no cell phones allowed, it didn't say anything in the letter, so my husband had to go back to the car so he could leave the cell phones there. After that, we had to sit in a room where other people where waiting, they told me to leave my letter in the first window so I did so. Then like 5 mins later, a lady came out and called my name, I was super nervous. She took me to her office and first thing she did was to ask for my passport, ID and green card, I handed it to her, she started reviewing my files and all the paperwork I have sent. Before she started reviewing my N-400 form I sent, she made me stand up and Swear to tell the truth. Then she told me that I could sit down and started asking me questions about the form like If Iam still married, if I live with my husband, she asked me things about my work too and then she started to ask me about legal stuff like: Have you ever been convincted of a crime or offense?, Have you even been in jail or prison? etc.. everything from the form. Then she asked me who supported me the first year I arrived here since I wasn't working, I told her that my husband did because I couldn't work since I didn't have my green card yet. Then she told me to read a sentence: Who pay taxes? and write down the answer: We pay taxes. Immediately after that, she started asking the following questions:

10. What is Freedom of Religion?

18. How many Senators are there?

57. When must all men register for Selective Services?

66. When was the Constitution written?

90. What ocean is on the East Coast of the United States?

92. Name one state that borders Canada

I answered everything correctly so after that she said I was approved , she said too that I will be getting a letter in the mail with the date of my Oath Ceremony and that after that I had to go to Social Security Office in order to update my status.

Everything went super smooth and she never asked for any supporting documents or photos. Like somebody else said before, I think the questions changed per month, the same questions she asked me I read it before in other posting from this month:

I hope this helps to other who havent had their interview yet, my advise would be, not to be nervous since it's simple and easy but just in case be prepare with any supporting documents.

Terrific post, thank you for sharing. If Claudeth ever gets it in gear she will do her interview in Santa Ana too. My little wife sure likes to put things off "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow"

Jasman0717: When your wife has her interview, dont forget to leave your cell phones in your car since they dont allow cell phones in the building and try to not bring many things in your pockets, they check you like you were in the airport and they are really mean people. But the good thing is that the interview is easy
