I started looking through the list of civil surgeons nearby and I have come to the conclusion that this is going to go badly. Those who do have reviews online have bad reviews. The rest, apparently, do not have reviews full stop. This makes me nervous. Reading the threads here (and I can't find anything specific to the Atlanta area... I don't know if I'm not using the right words in the search or what?), I do not feel much better about it. So.

Anyone know where I should go? Or defiantly should not?

Online reviews, such as via Google and any number of medical review sites. Because one of the largest complaints is 'poor hygiene'. Because I don't drive and my husband works. Because visiting every available clinic would take a very long time given, a: I have to walk across the city, or b: my husband had to leave work early to visit every time. Because only one of us currently has a phone, and that's him.

Because if someone's going to be sticking needles in me, I want to know I won't get sick from it (any more than is normal).

Is this in any way unusual to you that someone might care about the above?

I'm not sure about required shots, because my husband had all of his from his medical overseas. This office is an older...tight...cramped office. However, he and his staff definitely knew what they were doing with the I-693...it was only $40 to have the vaccination record transcribed. I did see other people coming in for the full medical as well...I just never had to venture past the waiting area.

Thanks, I appreciate your input.

I am a freak of nature who apparently never got chickenpox (it is not in my medical record, and my mother 'doesn't remember'), and the necessary vaccination isn't available in the UK... so this will be "fun".

I also had mine there... a full medical.

The nurse there doesn't like the English (might not be the same one..... I was there in 2007 )... she told me she hated the English "because of what they did in 1812 "!!! :o

I kept quiet.... I didn't want her "finding a mysterious disease"!!

The office was chaotic and messy.

They also made 2 mistakes with the paperwork.... we actually had to go back to the office twice!!

Old and Grumpy....But an American Citizen!!!

Wow! It has to be the same one...she loves Jamaica...name all kinds of parishes that she has visited over the years. I pray that they did not make any mistakes with our form. I reviewed it agains the vaccination card...and it was all correct...along with the typed info @ the top before leaving the office. So...fingers crossed and hands clasped in fervent prayer. Thanks for the heads-up.

My old PC physican is also listed as a CS. His office is very nice...clean and organized. It does not smell like a hospital...and it is impeccable. I didn't ask for his prices though because he tends to be on the expensive side when insurance doesn't cover certain procedures.

I called the two nearest to me and at both offices there was some idiot on the phone who would not accept that I didn't need a full medical. Neither would accept I already had one and needed my vaccinations transcribed. they both wanted me to have a medical for over 100 dollars and at that point, I decide I'm going to go insane before I get this finished....

Hi Erynn

I used

•Dr. Diana M. Whiteman, To Your Health Medical & Fitness, PC

235 East Ponce de Leon Avenue, Suite 306, Decatur, GA 30030

(678) 218-0320

She was lovely and never tried to push a full medical on me. Both she and the nurse understood what I was talking about. She charged $45 for transcribing my vacs and $65 for a second MMR booster. The office is a little small and very old but I was happy with the price and service.

Good luck

Amanda :)
