I did the medical examination thing in October 2009... BUT the people at the airport kept all my paperwork (including the medical) and there was no way to copy it cause i was sealed all the time. Am I suppose to print the medical form and go see a doctor again? If so, can I be the doctor I pick or they have a list of doctors?

THANK YOUUUUUUUUUU :)

unfortunatelly that what happened to me, i came here and they took everything in the airport, so i had to do it again, and the insurance do not cover it , i did it in dallas and it cost for me 455 dollars.

you need TB test , and test blood , then if your tb test will be negative they will give you 3 shots, and if it will be positive and i dont hope so , you will need x ray shest and it will cost more of course.

anyway if you are in hurry you have to do ur medical test 1st in civil sergious which u will find it in uscis site.

good luck

You should have a copy of your DS3025 (vaccination record) from your medical. If you dont, simply call the place where you had your medical and ask

them to fax you a copy.

You need a DS3025 vaccination record form from where you got your first medical exam. USCIS instructions say if you had medical exam already, the doctor only needs to complete the vaccination section on the I-693 form but 2 clinics told me that when people only requested this done, they are getting rejected and then blaming it on the clinics. It is best to get the complete exam again and it is a sure thing.

I also have questions about this. Up until last year many people who had their medical done in their country of origin didn't need a second exam for AOS if it was still valid (1 year), all they did was send a copy of their vaccination worksheet and the USCIS would approve it. Every now and then they would send an RFE to have the I-693 completed, and that's when Dr. Arnold came into play. Now I'm seeing that almost everyone is getting this RFE, no need for another medical but for the I-693 which is pretty redundant in my opinion.

My question is, does the I-693 have to be signed by a civil surgeon in the US for AOS? Is the copy of the vaccination worksheet no longer enough like it was last year?

Thank you,

Diana

Yes, I would definitely get the vaccination part of I-693 filled in by a CS. You wanna make sure you dont get RFE's and further delay the process.

That's what I'm thinking, especially since I've seen that about 99% of the time they're asking for this. I don't have to worry about it but I try to help others who are pretty much clueless about the process and this definitely helps.

Thanks!!!

There was ALOT of RFE's for medicals the last couple of months. Mine was done in Canada, and I just sent in the DS-3025 but got RFE'd for the full medical, after a couple phone calls and some advice from an immigration officer and a 1-800 number I sent back the RFE for just the vacc portion of the I-693. Both stating that its a generic letter and just gets sent out, but to put a note in about being K-1 and not needed a medical if its within a year since the first one. Its been bothering me, so I called the 1-800 # and got transferred to an immigation officer who said he didn't see a medical on file and did I send it in...it could be lost....just go get another one. So we are doing the full medical next week and sending it in. We don't want to prolong the process any longer then it needs to be. My medical in Montreal did not do a TB skin test, just the chest x-ray and we think that's what could be the problem so that's why we'd rather not wait and just get it done. When I checked with Medisys about not doing the skin TB test, they said they its not a requirement for a K1 Visa medical. I've learned from this whole process that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing with these people.

My RFE said they had nothing on file although they did have the DS-3025. Not only did my clinic recommend doing the complete exam, they would ONLY do the complete exam. They refused to do the vaccination only section of the I-693 because of the problems with rejections from USCIS. Another clinic I talked to would not do the partial vaccination part either due to the problems with rejections. One clinic quit doing immigration exams because of being hassled by people being rejected for things out of their control and communicating with USCIS is to difficult for the clinics.

From the information you gave us and your timeline it isn't clear if you filed for AOS already or not. They always take the sealed envelope with the documents from the medical exam at POE. You have to go to a CS only if you got an RFE. Did you get one?

I don't believe the above statement is entirely correct....Even if you had your medical done prior to entering the country and even if it has been less than year, you still need to complete the vaccination section on the I-693 form from a USCIS CS. If you mail your package in without the vaccination section of your I-693, there is a very good chance that you will get an RFE
