Delta airlines, what a bunch of CHOPF***S!!!!! They left every person that had to go through immigration STRANDED at the airport.

What are my rights here? They offered him a hotel in a strange city he's never been in, and a flight for 7 am. I said no. Get something better, faster. They tols him that they can get him a flight that will arrive at 230 in the morning. It's an illegal flight according to them as well. Illegal because he only has 30 minutes to change planes in Vegas.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?!?!?!

I'm devastated. I knwo he'll still be here. But now the first thing we're going to do is fight. He wouldn't answer a single question, or get me a number, listen to my adivce, nothing. I guess he doesn't believe me that they're lying about 90% of what they said and did.

Now I've got to leave my home at 11 (with a 2 year old in the back seat mind you) Drive 3 hours to an airport I've been once in my life 6 years ago, pick him up. Drive BACK another 3 hours. Then try to get an hour's sleep before my 2 year old wakes up for the day.

Sorry, just really needed to rant. I can't handle this right now. I really really can't.

I am sorry this happened to you.

Delta Airlines have assisted him with an offer of an alternate flight or hotel room. That is all they are obliged to do under the contract of his ticket purchase.. The ticket says " transportation from A to B".. There is no other recourse for missed flights etc, other than the offering of an alternate flight or hotel room ( some airlines; mind you, will go "above and beyond" with cash vouchers etc... If you write them a really snotty email or something ( I have done this and had vouchers for upgrades!!!!).

Sorry this has happened, but your loved one is coming home! Me, I would be swimming through lava lakes to get to the airport ( OK-lava lakes was a stretch-but you know what I mean).

 Hang on in there

edit-he could always ask if they will put him on another airline to make the trip nearer to his original time. Airlines do not like to do that ( code share) unless there is a COMPELLING reason for it-like medical or something. You always ask, though..

Good Luck

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

Next week this will be a humorous story. Though it sucks now.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

thanks guys, I hope I can laugh at this later.

ps- the only people that missed the flight, were those going through immigration with him. Not just customs but IMMIGRATION. So you can see where it struck a nerve.

the only time they will hold up a flight is if its the same airline and has quite a few passangers.. I have flown many airlines and it always seems I am never going where everyone else is and get left behind quite often.

Yes, the first thing you're going to do is fight, if YOU start it out that way. However, since you seem so put out to go get him at a time that is inconvenient to you, I'm sure that is exactly what will happen. I'm sure he's happy that he's SUCH a burden to you.....

Guess I should have gotten into a fight with Sian since I had to come home from work, sleep for 1.5 hours, then turn around and drive 3 hours to the airport I've been to once in my life (CVG), pick her up, drive BACK 3 hours, etc, etc....

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Remember, the girl's got a 2-year-old, and she's feeling disrespected by her guy because she feels like he ignored what she thought was best.

Just another perspective.

I'm sure by the time she gets to the airport, all those angry feelings will melt away.
