I am tired of people with children who don't believe that having children should affect their social life in any way, so they bring their children everywhere, including places that children are clearly not meant to be, like R movies, formal restaurants, etc.

My church had a (district-wide) "young adults" retreat and we told people we were unable to coordinate child care because the church's policy is that every child must be within sight of two adults (for up to five children, one additional adult per five additional children) at all times and we couldn't find two adults times thirty-six hours. One woman (from another church) brought her kids anyway (despite the fact that she'd asked and we'd told her she couldn't because we had no one to supervise them and nothing for them to do--it's a poor church that doesn't have a lot of stuff to amuse kids with). While they were good and didn't break anything or hurt themselves, there wasn't anyone to supervise them (she certainly didn't, because she was participating in all the activities), which meant that if anyone in the church's administration found out, our young adults group would lose all its rights to meet at the church. But who cares? Mama's precious kids wanted to come, so they did, to heck with what the people actually hosting the retreat wanted or were capable of providing. Because Mama couldn't stand to miss even one retreat (there's one somewhere in the district at least twice a month, most of them held at richer churches that are better capable of providing child care).

If you don't want to accept that having childrean will mean there are some things you can't do unless you find and pay for someone to watch them, then don't have them.

Back from camp. On the way home had to pick up from the band room the charger for the PA system that the director forgot and go deliver it to another mom who is going back down EARLIER tomorrow than I am (director could not wait till tomorrow evening - demanding, isn't he?).

My original list of things to do tomorrow morning consisted of hemming one pair of marching trousers and wrapping gifts for the directors.

Now add to that:

1. Go to Sams Club and buy nachos, cheese sauce and salsa that we thought we were getting donated for free by another merchant who gave us something else we can't use (but hey we'll use it later this season) -

2. Go to bank and cash check so we have some petty cash (Treasurer forgot but she's having a personal crises so we will forgive her this time) -

3. Arrange to have somebody pick up 100 t-shirts and deliver them to camp by Thursday (one person ordered them but she thought I was picking them up - no can do since now I will be at camp all week).

Also I have to pack and arrange for my neighbor to feed the cat and the goldfish while we are gone. Personally I think she should just feed the fish to the cat.

Still smiling though. My son's the drum major and I wouldn't miss this for the world!!

Oh I am totally down with you on this one. I don't care if it's a PG or a rated R movie either by the way. If I pay $20 for my wife and I to go to a movie theatre, it's bad enough I have to deal with the 75 ton air conditioner blowing down on my neck, but I do NOT want to hear any crying babies!!

Why do people hold up a long line of traffic in the Walmart car park for half-a-bloody hour waiting for someone to leave a spot that's 5 feet nearer the door than if they had just pulled into one that was readily available when they entered the car park?

And why don't they put their trolley back in the holder thing after they have loaded their car? They leave it in the middle of the car park, rolling around on the uneven surface dinging the other cars.:angry:

And why doesn't Walmart eye-test folks they lend their motorized shopping carts to?:angry::angry: They whizz and buzz around the store, like they own the stinking place!

Why do people on I-20 think they can enter a moving freeway at 40 mph? I am sure it can't be a unique phenomenon to I-20-my guess is that happens everywhere

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

The judgemental eye of the kids who work at the video store that always guilts me into renting something classy to go with my trashfest of videos.

Damn kids got me renting some Kurasawa movie to go with my awful Bollywood movie. :(

I know I know it's my problem, but seriously I have a crush on John Cusack, and I want to watch "Must Love Dogs" or whatever it's called, but the glares of those would-be Tarantinos foil my plans every time.

I hate it when people will go through all that trouble just to save a few bucks. Go shop where they actually pay their employee's. ;)

Ah...here is a good one. So I am in the Kiev airport now as some small internet cafe. I was suppose to be here 24 hours ago.

I got to London fine. Transfered to KLM from American Arilines. The KLM plane was late. no big deal...weather, air traffic, etc. Fine. Then we board and the pilot announces that we will be waiting for a (ie ONE passanger) so we will be delayed another 30 minutes. <sigh> Get to Amsterdam and miss my Kiev flight. No problem they route me to Kiev through Vienna. Well...The Amsterdam-Vienna flight gets delayed. They are missin one crew member. We wait for almost an hour. I get to Vienna and i have missed my Kiev connection. No problem. They put me up in a hotel and give me a voucher for food. The voucher is no good because all of the restaurants that it works at are closed. I am dying for a shower and when I get to the hotel the hot water doesn't work. <Sigh> Cold shower.

Wake up the next morning (this morning) at 5:00 for a 6:00 taxi pick-up. KLM was suppose to have made arrangments for me. No taxi shows up. I have to pay my own way to the airport. It is too early for the restaurants to be open so no breakfast. I get to my gate and the ENTIRE flight crew is late. We wait for 30 minutes before they stroll in. I get to Kiev late and have missed my Odessa connection. PLUS no luggage. I find the baggage people who look up my tag numbers. The bags are still in London. They did not get onto my original KLM flight even though I had a total of 5 HOURS layover. <sigh>

Now I am stuck in this tiny cafe, surrounded by smoking Europeans, hungry, tired, cranky, and over 24 hours late to have much delayed sexual adventures with the wife.

The worst part? I saw the cafe and my first thought was...hmmm...what is VJ up too?
