Well, we had our biometrics appointment today. One more step on the path.

Two interesting things happened that I wanted to share.

One - the form asked for her biographical information : DOB, Height, Weight, hair color, eye color.

We filled it all in, brought it back to the desk.

The interviewer looked at Vickie, crossed out "black" for hair color and inserted brown.

Vickie is Thai. As in - Asian. As in - jet black hair. Black as coal. Black as the night. I pointed out this fact to said interviewer.

She said - nope, it's dark brown. I said 'whatever'. Stupid government form, stupid government process. Call it candyfloss pink for all I care.

Two - There was an American flag at the front of the room, and pictures of scenes from the USA all around the room. Mount Hood in Oregon, Grand Canyon, Statue of Liberty, etc. There was a pic of Niagara Falls. Ok. Wait a minute, double take. Can it be?? Yes. It's a picture of the Horseshoe Falls. In Canada. So, we're in a US governmental office showing scenes of America. And there's a picture of Canada on the wall.

USCIS. Need I say more?

Yes, it did have maroon!
