Hi,

I have to pay the I-130 filing fees (from Italy) following these instructions:

Cashier's check, money order, or international bank draft, in U.S. dollars, made payable to the U.S. Embassy Rome, issued by any bank with a U.S. affiliation, or by a U.S. military Post Office facility.

I know what a cashier's check is, but how can I get one in Italy from a US affiliated bank?? What does it mean? Help? Has anybody done that from Italy before?

thanks!

So this is what the USCIS office told me:

Dear Mr. xxx,

Please be informed, that we don’t know a specific bank where you can go, but the payment of $355.00 can be done by a cashier’s check or money order (U.S. Dollars only) made payable to the U.S. Embassy Rome, issued by any bank with a U.S. affiliation. Personal checks are not accepted.

Regards

USCIS, Rome

So, what do I do???? What is a bank with a US affiliation??

I probably shouldn't reply as we went through Dublin not Italy, but we just got an international bank draft from our bank here in Ireland and that was acceptable.

Try a the BNL Bank. Because when I applied a tourist visa I need to pay the visa fee through the BNL, then the bank will transfer it to the US Treasury. I hope that will help. And the UNICREDIT BANK has affilition in a lot of bank in US.

Good luck

For anyone filing I-130 in Mexico City, close to the embassy, CIBanco is where I got our Money Order and it was accepted by the embassy. The check came in English, from a New York Bank.

I struggled with finding this place since the Casa de Cambio Tiber is no longer. You need pesos to buy the US$ money order and make it payable to US Department of Homeland Security/ USCIS.

Just filed this morning and now we wait!
