I was surprised to see the check cashed today, too. Maybe my bank didn't take off even though the gov. surely did. I had a forced furlough day today, so I was a bit grouchy I couldn't be earning (flights to/from New Zealand are so expensive!), but getting to sign up to USCIS updates definitely made up for it. I hope your NOA1 is soon!

The back of my check has an NOA1 date of Nov. 6, the same day it was received at the VSC, but still no hard copy! Ack! This whole thing is turning me into such a nut, frantically checking the USCIS website and VJ several times a day!

We got our NOA1 on the 5th but I keep checking the USCIS site hoping the case will be "touched" so I at least know someone's looking at it.

Hopefully November turns out to be a lucky month to file!

Whew! I just came home to find the NOA1 hard copy waiting in my mailbox! Hopefully that means yours is on its way, too, kabhatti!

I keep seeing October people being processed in a month or less; hopefully that's our fate, as well!

Beware, Brad! As soon as I got my case number I think I became some sort of USCIS addict. I check the website every few hours. Not sustainable behavior if this is going to be months in processing... But hopefully we'll all get through in 20-some days like those lucky Octoberians! Here's good luck to all of us to be with our loves speedily!

So, the case number on the back of my check is really tough to read. I must have read it incorrectly b/c the case number I input pulls up someones I-130. The first three digits behin with EAC (filed in VT), but about 2 of the other 10 are indecipherable. Looks like I will have to wait until I get the noa1 in the mail.

This is annoying :) I can see that I need to be patient! My fiancé and I have a child together and quadruple checked our application, if they don't approve us, then I don't know who they will approve!!

Someone on some other thread suggested that you print out the image of the back of the check and then highlight the case number to make it easier to read. Maybe a bit drastic, but if it gets you info a few days sooner... Not that it will make any difference in the process, but at least you'll get to spend a few more days obsessively checking the website! (I checked twice already today even though it's Sunday and I *know* there will be no updates... Man, I'm lame...) Otherwise, congrats, and hopefully your letter arrives soon!

On another note, is there some way to combine this thread with the other one (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=228396) so we can all be together? Kristin&David, I see you found this one! Good to have you on board!

Just sent the package off today... Wish us luck!

Unfortunately there is this sinking feeling in my stomach that not having pictures is going to bite me in the butt.

(based on comments on this forum, the likelihood is super high). However, if I didn't send it today until after another trip(I've been to China twice in the last year, for a period longer than a month), would have to wait another 6 months(time issue not money)

I think I'm going to just hope for the best and if I get those RFE, I'll plan that trip earlier.

Got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday, dated 11/10/09 (one day after I mailed it)...

Now the waiting game for NOA2... not much I can do at this point... will keep you posted.
