Allow another month and only then begin wondering. Three months of processing is normal.

The normal proecssing time for the 130 application is 6 months and going to the field office before that would not make any difference. Once you cross the 6 months timeline, you can call the USCIS and submit an 'out of normal processing time' request. Again, no need to go to the field office.

You will need the field office only if some delays occur to your application after getting approval or if nothing happens even after putting in the request over the phone.

So, take it easy and wait.

Good luck,

Binu

I usually take my Dad's advice, but normally I know why he is telling me...

Why is your father saying this???

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

he said they have switched their focus to K1's and are not processing CR1/IR1 or K3's he has a friend who did a K3 and is still waiting but he has noticed that K1's are getting approvals left and right. he feels if i submit a service request that will get the ball rolling  I am not sure some people are saying they don't think that will help at this stage (its not yet 5 months)

That's true-look at the timeline. I don't know what to tell you, but would it hurt anything if you did this? Yes, there are the normal proceeding times, except I think Ms. Sheka is comparing her timeline with the rest of the August filers and it isn't matching up.

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

thats true Finn i'm agreeing with my Dad about the K1's but i'm not just looking at the rest of my wonderful August filers timelines but the average time for that country based on VJ timelines and its 38 days right now there is someone who filed two weeks after i did for the same country that was approved last week  i truely think my file is under someone's desk

I can tell you for a fact (since it happened to us) you can ONLY chase USCIS if you are outside processing time according to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplay.do (CSC is processing CR1, K3 & K1 in 5 months) so unless its been 5 months since you got your NOA1, you gotta sit it out until it has been.

If it's been 5 months since, call them and file an out of processing time, they then have 45 days to reply to you with an answer on why it is.
