Hey Dain! I understand that Vicky is from the Philippines. Did she receive a packet 3 before the interview? And oh! The form I-134 affidavit of support, does it need to be notarized?

Sorry i got so many questions. huhu.. =(

Thanks to all of the VJ members who are very helpful =)

We were impatient. I made an appointment the exact day the embassy showed our paperwork as received in their system. Vicky got her package 3 four days later. It cost us a couple of extra phone calls, but saved us almost a week because she received her packet on a Saturday and we had already made her appointment the previous Tuesday.

We did receive the letter from the NVC, but not until the day the embassy received our packet. It came regular U.S. mail. If you live east coast maybe it would be a little faster. It is important for Manila filers (the NVC letter) because with a copy of that letter and a copy of the NOA2 you can go to St. Luke's and do your medical. Vicky was going to do that (I scanned it and emailed it to her to print out), but that same day we were able to set an appointment, so she brought the appointment letter to St. Luke's instead. The embassy requires the medical done 1 week in advance of setting the appointment but they had appointments available as quickly as 2 days later.

The I-134 did not need to be notarized (if you use the current form).

It's not necessary, you can do your medical with just the appointment letter only. It's only helpful if you get the NVC letter before you are able to set an appointment, you can get the medical done sooner with a copy of the NVC letter and the copy of the NOA2.

We never got a letter from them. Most people I have talked to said they didn't.

I never got one. We're just moving on to the next steps: gather documents, send in form saying we're ready, and they'll give us an interview date. Check the embassy's website.

We got our letter from the NVC about 5 days after they sent the case to the Embassy. I guess it depends case by case.

Fiance has finished his medical yesterday and now all that is left for us is for me to send him copy of I-129F, I-134, and recent evidence. He has his interview on Feb. 16th! :D:dance:

Has anyone else gotten interview dates? Any more NOA2's?

hi guys! just need your help. we are yet to make a schedule for my embassy interview. my fiancee is just waiting for her tax return then she can give me her AOS and everything that comes with it. we are not sure if her income is enough for me to be granted a visa. i think she is way above the poverty guideline for 2 or 3 persons (she lives with her family of 5 but she doesnt have any dependent. all of them are working). she makes around $27000++. will this do? i dont know if we have to get a co-sponsor (her mom) or not. pls help us! any helpful comments will do. i really want to get this worrying thing to stop. thank you all! God bless!
