That would be the worst April Fools joke EVER.

When I put money down on our honeymoon I thought it would be funny to play a joke on Mathew and tell him that someone had already booked it. Well it didn't turn out so funny because he FREAKED. He's such a stressful person and apparently I got him the wrong night when he was worried about school or something. But I still thought it was KIND of funny. Still waiting for him to get me back, though.

That IS a little funny :) Be careful how much revenge he takes. My family likes to play pranks..and they get really out of hand. When one uncle was getting married his brother, who is a lawyer, had another person in their lawfirm send "official" papers showing a paternity lawsuit from some other woman. When their sister got married, they had someone call her a few days before the wedding and tell her the banquet hall for the reception had burned down. NOT FUNNY... but I do recall laughing at both of these.

Needless to say I have not YET told my extended family about even applying for this visa. I am sure you can see why! HA ! I hope he doesn't read this post and come up with something truly aweful for revenge

Well, I think I am going to have to tell them eventually.. those who haven't met him yet will wonder who the strange man is hanging around with me at family functions :)

Hmmm.. the more I think about the joke you played the more I giggle. Fuat would NOT think it was funny... must get evil ideas out of my head.

I would just be like "Yep, we've been dating for a while, getting married now. Nope, that's not an accent you hear. He's completely 1000000% american. What? I'm not sweating!"

Guys, with an approval @ 9pm and the fact that it was checked half hour earlier with No change, doesn't that tell us that the system doesn't immediately update after a touch?? I'm most certain that VSC is closed on nights and weekends. Also, what is all this talk about "expedited?" Who, what, where and how???

Someone gave me some insight into the 9:00pm thing.. it is most likely a contract worker who is updating the system later in the evening, doing data entry on things that had been done during the day. I highly doubt VSC governemnt employees were working that late..

It's very difficult to get an expedited petition. Most often done for military personnel who are being deployed. I know there are a few other cases where it can be done, and there's some guidelines in the main forums, but I think you have to be able to show abuse and that it would be a danger for your fiance to stay in thier home country. From what I've read I think it has to be pretty extreme circumstances with a lot of proof to back it up.

So, i'm totally obsessed with the USCIS site now, so while i should be catching up on the mountain of paperwork i checked the 2382 cases that were opened Sept. 24 (my NOA1 date). I know, I have a problem.

But here's some interesting stats, if you are interested (I'm a data junkie):

2382 cases opened that day

55 are Fiance petitions

of the 55:

12 Approved

10 RFE'd

33 still in initial review

Breakdown of action dates:

10/08:

1 Approval

10/15:

4 Approvals

10/16:

5 Approvals

8 RFEs

10/19:

2 Approvals

2 RFEs

Hope these numbers increase everyday! :)

PS: just a caveat - there was a huge gap of numbers where there were no fiance petitions, which was weird but i do think i checked every single number...though i could have made a mistake!

No I think you are pretty accurate. When I got tipped off on the idea of doing this, last week, I sat down and tried to go through every one of the 9/24 petitions. There was a huge stretch of numbers that were not for K1 visa.. lots of AOS, EADS and things like that. I did not have the patience to sit and go through every case number, and it was driving me crazy, but went through a lot of them.. and noticed the same thing.

I just know you and Kayla are going to be getting yours soon. I was really hoping to see the two of you get yours, because then I would know mine might be on the way. I have been checking all day, watching for news from the two of you.. and everyone else!!!
