They cashed it yesterday, but it didn't show up in my bank until today. So maybe it's just taking your bank longer to post it to your account. Some banks will allow you to call them and see if you have a pending check.

I hope it's soon!!!

YAY!! Congrats!

Right now I feel like I am going to be ill.. I was just adding something to my stack of "proof of relationship after filing" and happened to notice something on my copy of the I-129F. I didn't sign it. I remember putting it aside in my copy of the packet, but I do not remember signing the OTHER copy. The night before I sent the packet out, I went over everything and notice that part of Fuat's address was missing, but I do not remember noticing my signature was missing. I can't believe I would miss something like THAT!

I can only hope that I did actually sign the form I sent in. I am just sick right now.

I wonder if they would send the whole packet back.. or if they would accept it, cash the check, and then send me an RFE. Either way, if I didn't sign that form I am going to be so upset!

Oh shoot!! Well dont make yourself sick over it. You might have signed it, and if you didnt, what's done is done and it will only delay it a little, it wont have any long term consequences. I believe everything happens for a reason, so maybe your file would have ended up on the office clown's desk otherwise.

The night before I sent mine in I looked over everything and finally noticed that I had written "none" on my g325a for my adresses. I had checked it a thousand times before, but luckily the last time I checked it, I found it. Don't make yourself sick over it, just relax. If you get an rfe it won't be hard to fix. Its not like you'd have to come up with more proof or anything, you'll just have to sign the papers. :) I'm sure it'll be fine though!!!

Sorry if there are typos, I'm on the blackberry.

Well, someone let me know that everything will be returned, including the check, if I didn't sign the form and that it would actually be better to have this and start over as opposed to an RFE.. they said the RFE would take longer than having to resubmit the entire packet. If they return the packet it will take about two weeks.

So.. now I will just sit and hold my breath to see if the check clears. If it clears, then I know I signed the form. Nothing to do now but wait.. :(

I sent ours in on the 1st and got the NOA date of the 8th. Man now I'm getting scarred I didn't have nearly as much pages with my packet. I did include showing that we have met a few times in the last two years. Hopefully I don't have any problems. I had my last two boarding pass and pictures of us together on two different times that I sent in.

As long as you sent in all the required documents along with your proof you should be OK.

I thought the same as you.. One of the moderators told me that an RFE will take longer, as everything is stopped, and that it will be better that they will resend and I will have to start over..

Maybe RFE's go into a pile that just sits there while "new" applications are taken care of right away.

One thing I have noticed on people's time lines is that they are getting RFE's 4 and 5 months AFTER the NOA1 date. I wonder what takes SO LONG for them to decide they need more evidence?

I don't know..

RFE's are typically given once you are about to be adjucated. The person reviewing your case will either decide to approve you or that they need more info to judge your case. You will occasionally get one right when you sent in the packet, but that is for more obvious things like you are missing a form or something. Those are really the only two times someone will look at your information and the rest of the time it is sitting in a box waiting. Its not like they are studying your case for 4 months before they decide you need an RFE.

It takes longer because of the time it takes for them to mail out the RFE, for you to receive it in the mail and then to respond back. Then once they receive it back, the adjucators usually take one day to go through all the RFE's they've gotten back to approve or deny, so depending on who you are working with that time can vary. I know it is hard to hear, because anytime waiting is precious time, but it really doesn't add on that much time to your case. I am sure everyone would rather get an RFE and respond then to be denied right away because of a lack of the information.

Good luck everyone. Many people think they will get an RFE and they don't. In my opinion these are many people who freak out and send a book with their application when in many cases it is not necessary for that stage (unless you are at a consulate that needs to be front loaded).

Well, you don't say what service center you are from, but usually the K-1 will in total take from 6-8 months total. So you may just be approved in March if you applied in September.
