Hello all!!!

I got my NOA2 in the mail today, so I will be joining you here. I do have a question for anyone who wishes to respond. My wife is currently living in Spain, but she is a Bolivian citizen. She is in the process of trying to get her Resident Card for Spain, but the process my take another 4-6 months. I spoke with the NVC and they told me she will not be able to get her Police Certificate in Spain if she is not a citizen or have a Resident Card there. They also told me that they will not grant her an interview at the Embassy if she is there illegal. She is going to have to move back to her country to continue in the process. Since I just got my NOA2 in the mail today, when do you think she should move back to her country???? How much time do you think we have before the NVC forwards our information to the correct Embassy??

Thanks in advance!

Chance

If she is there illegally, best for her to return to her country and now. Just cause she is trying to apply for residence card and there illegally, embassy wont take this into consideration, she is illegal there. As for as fast at NVC will forward your case to embassy depends on how fast you go thru NVC takes about 1 month if all goes right.

Thanks for responding! Being the fact that I just got my NOA2 in the mail today, how much time do you think I have before she needs to move back to her country??

Yes, if she is in Spain illegally... She needs to get back to Bolovia and get her Police certificates there as well as all the other required documents. She cannot do anything in Spain if she is illegal.

Yeah that's what the NVC told me as well.. Thanks for your response!

Depends on when you want her to process for the GC. NVC can be as short as a month IF you have all your documents in order. The Police Certificate is one of those documents and I am not sure how long it takes to get the PCC in Bolivia. But she cannot process without it. So if you are seriously thinking to get her over here ASAP, she needs to go back now to get her documents to you. If you read the NVC shortcuts, it goes over the documents needed and you can evaluate which documents she still needs and you need.... Best of Luck

There's probably third parties involved in this, misinformation is very common in the US about immigration processes, he probably spoke to somebody who told him something untrue.....

That was happening with me too, but my sponsor (my brother in law that i could define just my brother) didnt care about anybody, and just trusted my explanation of how is the real thing...

My DS-230 is ready. I have all the documents ready to be sent once my DS3032 and IV Bill is paid. I'm just concerned about my Dubai, UAE Police Clearance. It was issued on July 06, 2009 and the validity is only 3 months so I'm sure that it's already expired (only days or weeks) once they asked me to send my IV package. Can I still send it? I'm planning to attach my old passport with UAE visa and cancellation page showing my last arrival and departure in UAE. The certificate was requested and issued years after I left that country and I've never been back there since. I will also send a notarized explanation letter regarding the document. But, once I submitted it, I will again start the process of obtaining it (fingerprinting and authentication/attested by UAE Embassy Manila) and just wait for NVC to send me an RFE (but I really hope they won't and just consider it), so atleast I will reduce the additional waiting days. If they RFE me for a new PCC, I will be done with the process in Manila and just send it straight away to Dubai. Do you think expired PCC and other documents attached will work..? Thanks a lot.

I know :( the problem is that he is a hot shot bankruptcy lawyer and one of his immigration lawyer friends said something to him...i was just a paralegal so in his mind- obviously- the lawyer friend is going to be correct aout what he is saying...

all i need right now i guess is prayers and im hoping it all goes well

Whew! I just barely made it into this thread!

I got a wonderful text this morning, then an email...we were approved on 9/25! I even checked my case status earlier this morning and nothing. They've since updated it with today's date (with Friday as the approval).

I'm excited to be joining you all!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!
