Hello all,

I just found this forum last week and I can't believe I haven't been here before. It is really helpful.

My husband and I applied for my green card almost 2 years ago (and I did everything without an attorney). We used to live in New York and the process went very smooth. I applied in early September and got the green card by mid-December with the expiration date for 12/14/09.

Now it's time to apply to remove the conditionals. I think we have enough evidence proving we are married. We moved to California few months ago and I think I will submit documents/papers that show we lived together in New York and now here in California. Is it too much?? Should I just keep the documents with the California address? Not sure how much documents is too much.

One main question I have: I will be submitting my package on Sept 14th. But my husband and I will be going to Brazil on December 12th. Would it be enough time for me to get the 1 year extension letter?

A second minor question I have: I travel a lot for work and I have different trips (nationally) schedule for October and November. If the biometrics fall within one of my travel date, can I request a different date? Or should I cancel my trip (I don't know if I can take this second option..).

If you are sending it to CSC pretty much all have been approved within 3-4 month. You should get 1 yr extension letter about 7-10 days and my guess is you'll have biometric app. letter way before Dec 12th. I don't have experience with re-scheduling bio. so I can't answer you but from what I've heard you can always re-schedule it. As for the evidence this is what I did, I collected everything single items possible and trimmed by 6 month intervals. Good luck.

Welcome to Visa Journey! :star:

Rather than rescheduling the biometrics, try instead to go for a walk-in anytime before your actual date. They will reschedule fairly easily if you are going to be traveling every day between when you get the bio letter till the actual appointment, but reschedule as soon as possible. Usually they send the bio notice 2-3 weeks before the actual appointment. There is no problem at all even going in for the walk-in the day after you get the notice!

As for evidence, yes gather ALL evidence you have for the ENTIRE time you were married, that is, from when you got the AOS till present day. Then pick out 2-4 samples per year (like, 3 joint bank statements for January, May, Sept of each year; utilities in both names for March, August, December, for example, etc.). They want proof that you have been together the entire time, not just in the last few months!

As chox99 said, the NOA1 extension letter comes fairly quickly, within 1-2 weeks of sending in the packet, so you should be fine.

Previous filers and September filers,

Did you (or will you) include photos only from the last 2 years or are you including photos prior to the green card? My husband and I have been together for over 6 years, living together for 4 years and married for 2. I was thinking to include very few pictures from 2003-2007. What is your opinion?

Well, it's about that time again!! I'll be filing mine around 2nd/3rd September as my greencard expires 11/29 (don't want to send it too early incase it gets sent back!). I have everything ready ... I'm pretty happy with our evidence. In regards to photos, I'm only including 10 that date from the time I received my greencard to now. I already sent in photos from before that time when I applied for my visa and greencard so I don't see any point in sending them all in again. They obviously believed that we were together before my greencard date, so no need to try and proove that we were. I'm sending mine to VSC so I'm looking for a long wait .. hopefully not too long though!!!

Hey Crysethu, you will be the first on this list. Does anyone know how to paste that timeline I saw on other forum topics (the one that you put date you sent, received NOA, etc) so we can all keep track? I am hoping to mail my paperwork express on 09/14 (I would do earlier but my window starts on the 19th... how early can we send? ) I have everything ready sitting on my bookshelf.

nycbra, if your window starts on 9/14, I would not send it in before the 13th. There have been several cases of petitions being sent back because they arrived early - even 2 days early!

So there went my I-751 paperwork to CSC today!!! YAY!:dance::dance: We paid for the postage big time since it was 3lbs, certified mail with return receipt. Well, we just want to make sure that it will safely get there and that somebody will sign for it... nothing wrong with that, right?

ETA: Can someone add us please? I tried doing it but it's not working for me.

So nice to see a few familiar people from the AOS threads of 2007, I guess we are in the same boat/thread again :)

We are preparing our docs and can file after 9-13, so I'll post some info later on.
