NOA1!!!!! 08/31/09

my check was cashes 09/01/09 :dance: checked status online says it was transferred to CSC on 08/31/09  last update 09/01/09 :dance::dancing::dancing:

Yay Ms. Sheka! I checked this just to see if you got news yet!

Now we're all in the same boat. Let's hope our NOA2s come around the same time so no one has to wait!!

I'm not in the nervous stage yet. I just expect to wait at least two months anyway, and I'm so busy at work so that keeps my mind off of it!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site, and was glad to have found it.. I submitted my I-130 form on 08-07-09 to the Chicago Lock Box. They received it on 08-09-09, then transferred it to California. They cashed the check shortly after. I received the NOA 1 on 08-13-09. Now I am just waiting for the next step.. My question is, My wife currently lives in Madrid, Spain... She was not able to get her Resident Card there. Without her Resident Card, she will not be able to get a Police Record check in Spain that is required as part of the process... Any suggestions on how she can get the Police check in Spain???

Thanks in advance!!

Also, how do you create a time line here???

Hi Durden!! Welcome!! If you don't get an answer here, I suggest you post your question to the Europe/Eurasia regional forum; probably get more bites there. Alternatively, you could ask the consulate (you have plenty of time); if the consulate in Madrid is like the one in Lima, they are probably pretty helpful.

Mark :)

US consulate (in Madrid for the Spanish stuff) since they will have the most experience with people providing that information, but remember that you are going to need to get police records from the other countries she has lived in as well... (man, am I glad my wife has only ever lived in Peru <whew>).

Oh! and the VJ estimate changed the adjudication date range from 12/10 - 12/28 to 12/06 - 12/21. Probably just as meaningless as the touches, but it still makes me happy somehow :)
