I notice in a lot of the time-lines that people send their petition in, and get NOA1 within 2 - 4 days? Is this correct?

Ours is over a week that its been received by the California office and I haven't heard anything.

Let me know if i am over-reacting.

I wouldn't start worrying quite yet. Give it another week or 2 and I'm sure you will have it.

Sept. 9/08... SSA office to change status to "U.S. citizen"

Oct. 8/08... Applied in person for U.S. Passport

Apr. 6/05... DS-230, Part I faxed to Vancouver Consulate

May 26/05... K-2 Interview - APPROVED!!!!

Sept. 5/05... Entered U.S.

Sept. 7/05... I-485 & I-131 sent to CLB

Feb. 22/06... AOS Interview - APPROVED!!!!! (Passport NOT stamped)

Dec. 4/07... I-751 sent to NSC

May 23/08... 10-Yr. PR Card arrives in the mail

Mar. 22/11.... N-400 sent to AZ

June 27/11..... Interview - PASSED!!!

July 12/11..... Oath Ceremony

I've seen lots of folks not get their NOA1 for a month or more - some never get them at all. Doesn't mean they're not being process in the order which they were received though - for some reason, NOA1's are inconsistant...

I wouldn't start panicking - it's a long road...

hope u sent it via next day delivery and yes noa1 can take about 2-4 weeks , just be patience and good luck, abby n sheryl

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

You sent it with delivery confirmation right? as long as someone signed for it.. its there... check your bank to see if the check was cashed...

Yes I tracked it and I know it is there. I sent a money order so I don't know if I can confirm that one.

I mailed my K1 in on May 13th, and received my NOA1 in the mail within 2 weeks. Basically it is just a letter of receipt stating that your application has been received and they will issue you a receipt number that you can enter in on the uscis.gov website to check the status of your case. However as of yet I have not been able to see my status online yet. <_< Did you send your petition certified mail? You can call 1-800-375-5283 to check to see if its been received yet. Hope this helps.

Just a reminder: your NOA1 date (for timeline purposes) is the "Receipt Date" printed on the notice, NOT the day it came in the mail (i.e., today). :thumbs:

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.
