Why do people use checks?

  1. 1. Do you use checks?

    • For Everything, it's easier to balance my account that way
      2
    • Only for necessary check payments or special cases (i.e deposits, rent, downpayments, etc)
      28
    • I'm cool as fvck and carry a case with $100 bills all the time
      4
    • If they don't withdraw from my account, I don't do business with them, suckas
      2
    • For everything because I'm an annoying person

  2. 2. If you use checks for everything, how old are you?

    • 18-29

    • 30-39
      4
    • 40-49
      2
    • and old fart/lady
      2
    • I don't use checks for everything, just for special situations
      29
  3. 3. If you are politely reminded that for a certain item (i.e time card) only cash or debit card is allowed, you:

    • Have a fit, say you've been using checks for 40 years and other reasons nobody gives a flying fvck, and leave the store
      4
    • Act like a douchegeek and say you can check your balance in your iphone, and other reasons nobody gives a flying fvck
      0
    • stay cool, and say sure I have cash/debit card, and stop annoying the cashier and customer behind you
      29
    • You are the fvckin cool guy/girl that carries a case with cash everywhere you go, and say sure, here's a $100 keep the change sucka'

I hate, hate, HATE getting behind someone paying with a check. Especially if they wait until the cashier rings up everything before getting their check book out to start filling out the check. HELLO!!! You know you have to pay! Get the d@mn thing out and get it filled out with everything except the amount so all you have to do when they finish ringing you up is fill out that part.

Came here to say this, but you already did. I also like when they have to hunt through their whole entire suitcase of a purse to find their ID in order to pay with the check. It's as if they didn't know they would be asked for it, even though they've had to show it EVERY single freaking time before.

Our stupid ISP doesn't even have a functional website, much less allow online payments. You have to send them a check. How much sense does this make? Unfortunately, they are the only one available in the area. :(

I hate people who pay for things with checks and wait til the last minute to write it! In like Feb or March I had to cancel all my credit cards/bank cards because my bank's system was f*cked with and then I got this weird phone call about a credit card and the credit card company suggested I cancel all my credit cards. Anyways, I went to the grocery store and I was going to write a check and I actually had to stand there for a second because I completely blanked on how to even write the damn thing. The cashier thought it was hilarious, but I think I've had the same box of checks since I got my main bank account 10yrs ago. I pay everything online. I completely understand your frustration!

OMG, I hate hate HATE being stuck behind an old person paying with a cheque/check!!!!! :bonk: And, trust me, there are a lot of old people paying with cheques/checks in Florida.

(Thanks for asking the question, Jenn. I didn't know what a time card was, either. LOL)

That aggravates me to no end! It usually takes them a full FIVE minutes to write the dam thing out, put their pen away, tear the dam check out and hand it to the cashier. ACKKKKKK!!!!!

I only use checks when I mail my bills out. If I could pay them online I would but some of them still require me to mail a check.

Oh let's not forget the one who also makes you wait while they write the amount down in their checkbook register, and then BALANCE THE DAM THING before leaving. AUGH!!!
