Why do people use checks?

37 members have voted

  1. 1. Do you use checks?

    • For Everything, it's easier to balance my account that way
      2
    • Only for necessary check payments or special cases (i.e deposits, rent, downpayments, etc)
      28
    • I'm cool as fvck and carry a case with $100 bills all the time
      4
    • If they don't withdraw from my account, I don't do business with them, suckas
      2
    • For everything because I'm an annoying person
      1
  2. 2. If you use checks for everything, how old are you?

    • 18-29
      0
    • 30-39
      4
    • 40-49
      2
    • and old fart/lady
      2
    • I don't use checks for everything, just for special situations
      29
  3. 3. If you are politely reminded that for a certain item (i.e time card) only cash or debit card is allowed, you:

    • Have a fit, say you've been using checks for 40 years and other reasons nobody gives a flying fvck, and leave the store
      4
    • Act like a douchegeek and say you can check your balance in your iphone, and other reasons nobody gives a flying fvck
      0
    • stay cool, and say sure I have cash/debit card, and stop annoying the cashier and customer behind you
      29
    • You are the fvckin cool guy/girl that carries a case with cash everywhere you go, and say sure, here's a $100 keep the change sucka'

then I went to cry in the backroom, a coworker got me a cookie and a glass of oj.. then regained my composure, and came up with this non-biased poll..

seriously, checks?

This part made me snort

HATE checks, don't use em unless I absolutely have to. I was paying my water bill by check because they are so behind the times they don't have a website #######? Then my credit union started offering bill pay and that took care of that. :star:

I only use checks when I mail my bills out. If I could pay them online I would but some of them still require me to mail a check.

I hate, hate, HATE getting behind someone paying with a check. Especially if they wait until the cashier rings up everything before getting their check book out to start filling out the check. HELLO!!! You know you have to pay! Get the d@mn thing out and get it filled out with everything except the amount so all you have to do when they finish ringing you up is fill out that part.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

We use cheque only for rent. I used to use debit card but the awesome bank in US allows me only 4 debit transaction per month, so I use CC and pay it all at a certain date.

Really? Never heard of any bank that does that. Change banks. It's cheaper for them to process a debit card transaction than a check transaction.

Yep.

I actually have cool checks. They have colorful scenes of artwork on them by Monet, Van Gogh, etc. And I never get to use them. I have had the same check books for years now, they last foreverrr. That makes me a little sad, but not sad enough to try using them everywhere. lol.

I am an old fart, and I do write checks to pay my bills, and CC to buy gas, but cash is still king. As far as the bussiness, it's net 30, or check, except for petty stuff, then it's cash.

paying bills w checks is considered special cases..

the case im referring is those people who go buy a gal of milk and a pack of cookies, and then write a check for 6 bucks or whatever it was..
