Had my biometrics yesterday but no online/email updates yet.

My biometrics appointment is supposed to be on the 19th of August in Michigan City, Indiana, but my husband will be out of town next week so we decided to try a "walk-in".

They asked me to show them our marriage certificate because I can't show them an ID with my married name and had me fill up a form then took my finger prints.

I'm worried I don't have any updates yet through the USCIS website and email.

You won't see any online updates/changes to your status (nor an email) - you should see a 'touch' (Last Update date change) on the day you took the biometrics but that is it.

i was also ment to be having my biometrics on the 19th of august in LA but becuase we had waited so long for it to be sent already and my hubby works weds i did a walk in. i didn't have a change in status or email after but i got a touch on the day after so i walked in on the 30th of july and on the 31st it was touched on aos and ead.

this week i got my interview date plus approved for ead and ap so it must have been fine.

expect the touch on Monday as i just realized you only did it yesterday (friday) and i think its rare for them to update the online site on weekends as they dont normally work them

Don't worry even if you don't get a touch - some files seem to go all the way through the process and don't get updated or touched. For example, I passed my citizenship interview this week and my online status still says that the last update was receiving the application. If you get a touch or an update that is good but if you don't get one, it actually doesn't mean anything at all. Good luck to you.

yes that is true it happened to us with the petition for k1. unfortunately that also meant we didn't get our noa2 copy and gave us a headache but its does happen that they forget to update the online system

and as I have seen, there are only 2 of us having biometrics that time... that when you make a noise it will echo in the entire office. So how come they were not able to update their system... too much "slacking off"...

who knows I read another post where they found out it's relatvly short period of time to get the FBI check done on averagewith no hits. Perhaps it takes over night to do and your info is waiting to be entered once mr and mrs officer get back from having two days off with the kids

In general, it doesn't pay to rely too much on the USCIS internet updates/e-mails system for anything. It kind of fell apart a couple of years ago when there was an overwhelming number of applicants trying to beat the fee increases, etc. I am sure USCIS would like to improve it, but doesn't have the staff or perhaps even the hardware to do so.

Not everybody gets a touch for biometrics. We didn't. But we did have a case onlline that showed other touches along the way. Oddly, they never updated to show green card approval either, nor sent a welcome letter, but the card was received.

Anyway, here is the phone number of FBI line you can call to see whether your fingerprints were accepted or not if that will make you feel better. I believe they ask your A number, so have that handy.
