Call from Immigration officer

Hi guys. I just received a call from Immig. Lady asked me if I still live with my husband and what is our address. What do you think. Should I be concern?

How do you know she was actually from Immigration? I have not heard of this for ROC

How did she identify herself? As in, how do you know it was for real? I have heard of home visits, but not of phone calls. Weird.

They do that too, I went for my K-1 interview, 2 days later the CO called by herself to my office to confirm that I worked where I said and inquiried to my supervisor if he knew about my SO and me moving and so on. He knew about my moving but didn't met in person my SO, so he told her what he knew at that moment.

Home phones and cel are in the forms, they can contact you the way they prefer.

WHat type of proof did you file for your ROC? Are you still living with your husband? A clearer picture may help. Seriously though which immigration number? What showed up on your caller ID??

If everything is for real, I don't see why you have to be nervous.

The number works with all extensions (depence request). I know it is weard. We subbnit join tax, bills, pictures etc. Thank for help.

Oh well, first I hear of this.

I would nonetheless be wary of how they identified themselves, if they have the proper credentials bla ba bla.

But indeed, if you case is all kosher, why worry?

Sure of course. But we prefer, when things go comfortable.

I have VOIP phone service and I can set up in my personal profile the "name" I want to show on the recipient's caller ID.... not saying it was not real but it is possible to "fake-out" the CID

The good news is she called you on the number you have listed on file for your address with your husband - and reached you there. I think it is probably going to be good news for you.
