Italia deserved it.. for the first time (until the final) I saw a offensive team trying to score more than 1 goal!.. then the final, they had to use their signature, the cattenaccio.. which, was played really well..

Congratulations, Italy! And I think at this point any discussion what would have been if only... (insert any opposing team on the way to the final) had scored is meaningless; soccer (as most games) depends to a large degree on luck. There's always another World Cup coming up and that's when luck can change.

I have to disagree with you partially Fisch..happens that my post comes after yours :) ...there is a degree of luck in soccer but not `` a large degree``.And anyway every four years the World Cup reminds us that soccer is much more than just a game .

It`s not a simple question of luck that Italy won the world cup.

In Italy, soccer is the national obsession, an integral part of the infrastructure of the Italian state of mind and of the Italian way of life.

Italians are just huge in soccer and I am sure you know about their history and this time they were once again great, with the world best defence in the first place and I could talk more and more about them but people can find facts for themselves .I just think it`s really not the case to talk about ``large degree of luck`` when it comes to a World Cup .

Italy congratulations again (F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F)(F) ....HUGE festivities in Rome tonite!

CONGRATS TO ITALY

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Guys, in my opinion, it’s supposed that if Italy didn’t have penalty, I still would not believe that Australia could pass the match. Why? Because as far as I know this is the first time for Australian team to come back this World Game after so many years ago they were disappeared, so let’s say they are newcomers here, while Italy are really big team (you can look back the history at least in last two World Cup which was hold in France and Japan-Korea), all Italian football players are good ones, and if there were no penalty for Italy, it’s not likely Australia would win, they have less experience than Italy.

Ok you want to go back on history. Ok you know that this is the frist time Italy won PK's going into that match their record was 0-3. Now how can you say they were the more experince team vs. aussieland that it was a automantic win for them if it went to PK's?

Remember also if Germany would of held out for a couple more minutes then Italy would of not been world champs. So as I see it, it was denstin for Italy to win this world cup. a lot of things went in Italy's favor but if it was the other way around, they would of not been world champs.

It`s true,Italy don`t like the pk`s because it`s nothing to show about soccer during pk`s.

They love to play.

Italy is undefeated in 23 consecutive games in international play. How`s that for a fact?
