Okay...so I am starting to wonder. My wife's I-751 was mailed on 8-14-09 and through the post office, it wasn't received until 8-24-09. I saw that the check was cashed that same day. Since that time, I have not heard anything from the USCIS. I never received an NOA1 and I tried to look-up the case in the USCIS website, based on what I could decipher from the face of the check and it said "case not found". Any suggestions??? Starting to worry a bit.

You sound like me! I was freaking out and TracyTN helped me realize nothing was wrong. My check was cashed on the 24th too, and I didn't receive my NOA1 till today... It was sent September 4th... It may just be behind like mine was. Don't worry - it will show up. The number on the check is not the same as the case number. The real case number is on the Bio letter.

Thanks, Tonyeck....your response makes me feel a little better. We'll keep holding our breath and waiting. (like there is anything else we can do. :lol: Hopefully, the wait will be over soon. I checked the mail today and nothing, so here's to hoping tomorrow will be the lucky day.

At any rate, no one can tell you exactly how fast your process will go - everyone's is different. The timeline in the Sept. thread might help give you a ball park idea.

Once you receive your NOA you get a year extension on your greencard. If you are worried about missing your biometrics then try a walk in after you get your NOA.

Hey everone,

Got the NOA and Biometrics notice today. The NOA address was wrong on the envelope(numbers transeposed) and our mailman figured it was important so when bio letter arrived he gave us both. Might explain why some folks haven't received their NOAs yet.

I will be mailing mine August 14th. I will be traveling overseas Nov 29th. DO you think I will have a problem traveling? am not sure how it will work

No, you should not have a problem travelling. You will get an automatic extension. Best wishes.
