Does that mean we got it or not!?!?

We had our K-1 visa interview here in Paris yesterday. It went really well, but the agent didn't say definitely yes or no! I don't get it... it seems like everyone else got their answer (or request for more info) during the interview...

The first person, who took all the papers and arranged the file, said everything was in order. She confirmed some of the questions, our addresses, etc. She even took our wedding invitation and said how lovely it was! Then we had the interview and that was straightforward. She seemed happy with all his answers. At the end she said, "normally it is all fine... everything looks good. So unless there is some other issue with the file or with the consul, it should be ok." She said she had no more questions and R asked if that meant it was approved and he could go ahead and buy his plane tickets, she kind of laughed like "you're in a hurry!" and said it would be better to wait until we have it in hand (of course)... We told her we were planning our wedding and she said we should receive the Chronopost envelope sometime next week. At the end she smiled and said "Congratulations!" but we left still not sure if we could start celebrating or not! :blink: (or at least half celebrating while we wait to get the visa in hand!)

Anyone have any idea what that means?! Does the lack of response mean it's going into AP or do they just prefer to not risk giving you the wrong idea about when it wil arrive in the mail until its sure? My fiancé went through AP for a B2 visa last year and it took < 1 week. Will the fact that he's been "checked out" before help this time around or do they start fresh?

Did IO give you a slip or did you leave your passport with them?

If you were given a congrats and told that your envelope would be arriving within the week, I'd assume it's a go.

01/08/2010 - Applied for SSN in maiden name.

01/09/2010 - Married! Officially a Missis.

01/19/2010 - Received SSN in mail.

02/10/2010 - Sent I-485/I-131/I-765 to Chicago.

02/19/2010 - NOA dates for all applications.

02/22/2010 - Received NOAs in mail.

Thanks for the reassurance...

No, they didn't give us a slip of paper and they did not ask for any additional documents.

We left the passport and the prepaid envelope with them (they gave us the tracking #).

As every consulate is different, (mine, you know right away, and if you're approved, can pick up the visa the next day), make sure you ask within the forums of the consulate your fiance went to. However, that being said, keeping a passport, an envelope to mail it back in, and hearing a congratulations, sounds pretty positive to me! :thumbs:

Hope you don't wait to long to get that passport (with the visa) in it!!

If they kept the passport and prepaid envelope + give you a tracking # for the SHIPMENT I would only assume they are sending the visa, along with the CONGRATS this would be the only conclusion. Consulates are not in the habit of building up you hopes only to let you down, usually if they have a problem they tell you about it, they are not by any means shy.

I think your past AP experience may have you rattled a bit, I would start getting ticket prices.

Went for her interview on July 16th and received her Pink Slip......Finally. Paid the AIR21 and I expect her here August 10th, 2009. Marriage will be August 21st, exactly 4 years to the day that we first met.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
