Let's just give Texas back to Mexico and be done with it.

sure and just give florida back to spain too.

Well TBO Florida was 'bought' while Texas... hmmmmmm...

was?

You're from Texas. Tell us. Wasn't exactly 'bought' fair and square right?

so when are you going to give up any property you own and give it back to the native americans?

Property I own is on an island invaded and annexed by the same general that played a crucial role in the Indian Wars.

so how's them feelings of guilt?

Guilty I infected yet more cells today.

As for my property... heck... I'm from that island so it would be pretty silly to feel guilty for being from there.

Forgot the whistle. Sorry.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

But before feeling historically guilty ask the Mexicans how they felt. Sure... what's history is history.

Silly secessionist notions aside... I'm going home.

Religion was part of Australian public schools when I grew up. If someone did not want their kid to participate, they could take them out of class. Religion is a part of numerous Australians' lives, therefore, the education system proudly embraces it. Separation of church and state over there refers to the government not favoring one religion alone; that includes atheism. As kids we enjoyed celebrating other people's beliefs; such as Easter and having hot cross buns. We also learned about and celebrated other religious beliefs such as Buddhism and Islam.

Private Christian schools are also really big there. Actually, most wealthy kids go to private schools. Taxpayer money is allocated to each student and they are free to use it in a public or private school of their choice. Worthy note, Australia is currently ranked number one in the world in terms of education index; published by the UN.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Now there's an idea we need to incorporate over here.
