I am here again guys, I am so happy when I received my 10-yr. card today after four business days from the approval date. But it feels me sad that they(USCIS staff) misspelled my middle name on the card. I don't have an idea how to get the new one. Does anybody experience this? If so, please share. Everybody is welcome to share too pertaining to this topic.

You replies are highly appreciated.

Thank you guys.

Congratulations!! on getting the card in the mail.

I think you can file I-90 with no application fees but biometric fee due to wrong name on the card. Here's the link

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...000d1f1d6a1RCRD

From the instructions

Who Is Eligible to e-File This Form:

If you are a permanent resident or conditional resident, file this application:

* To replace a lost, stolen or destroyed card; or

* To update a card after change of name or other biographic data; or

* To replace a card that is mutilated.

If you are a permanent resident, you must also file this application:

* To replace a card that is expiring; or

* If you have been in resident Commuter status and are now taking up actual residence in the United States; or

* If your status has been automatically converted to permanent resident; or

* When you have an older edition of the card and must replace it with the current type of card.

If you are filing because your card was issued with incorrect data due to USCIS administrative error (Application Reason "d"), please refer to the Paper-based I-90 filing instructions, which can be read through the Related Links of this page.

Filing Fee:

If you are filing for the following reason, the base application fee is not required. The biometrics fee is required. Please note: This option is not available through the e-Filing system. Please file your application in paper if you are filing for this reason.

For paper based I-90.

Please double check the info on the USCIS website.

Sorry to hear about this. Hope it gets resolved soon and help the above info helps.

Good Luck.

I would also suggest that you send the I-90 along with the incorrect green card to USCIS with signature confirmation. After AOS they sent my husband a GC with incorrect spelling. We returned it along with the I-90 and they claimed they never received it. The only thing that saved us was the signature confirmation from USCIS. They never found the I-90 and his incorrect green card. Before sending it back you could make an infopass appointment just to get a I-551 stamp if needed.

You have to file a I-90.

I just did because they sent my card to an address I lived at two years ago. They approved our GC in April and we still have not received our cards.

Good luck is all I can say when dealing with anyone to do with USCIS, whether in person or on the phone. They have no idea what they are doing when you go to an Info pass appointment. Waste of time.

They would not even stamp our passports because they say we owe bio fee's and we dont. I drove 2 hours just to talk to an idot who knew nothing.

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

I already talked to one of the USCIS staffs, he told us that I should send the I-90 form and the I-751 Green Card with supporting documents with my correct name on them.

They did the same thing to me two years ago. I knew I'd need to file an I-90 to get my middle name corrected, but I made an Infopass first to get the I-551 stamp and at the appointment they were able to check into everything and verify that the spelling mistake was a USCIS error rather than an inability on my part to spell my own name! That probably made no difference when I actually filed, but I mentioned it in my cover letter anyway. You definitely want to send the I-90 by a trackable method because you have you include the green card with the form and supporting evidence, so need proof that USCIS received it. Along with proof of the correct spelling of your name, include copies of your I-751 form if you can (along with anything you've received from USCIS where they've managed to spell your name correctly) - basically you want to prove that it's their mistake rather than yours, so that you won't have to pay to have it corrected.

Good luck! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png
