Atlanta walk-ins??

Can anybody help me please??

I'd like to know if it's possible to do a walk-in for Biometrics in Atlanta.

I recieved my biometrics appointment today.... for mid-August.

We're going away for 2 months in October, and I don't want to be called for an interview while we're away... so I'd like to hurry things along as fast as I can.

Is a walk-in a possibility??

thanks for all your help in the past!

When you have your biometrics isn't going to have a big impact on when you get the interview. Yes, they need to wait until the security clearance comes back but those come back quickly. The biggest wait is processing everyone else who is in line ahead of you.

The biometrics letter clearly states that if you can't make your appointment to reschedule so I don't know if they accept walk-ins or not. You can always try to do a walk in, but I think you might have more success with preventing a bad interview time if you make an infopass appointment at the Atlanta USCIS office and ask them to put a notation on your file that you are not available for an interview during the dates that you are away. In all likelihood you probably won't have an interview at all - the majority of Removal of Condition applicants are approved without an interview - but I can certainly understand why you would want to do what you can to prevent one while you are way if scheduled. You can make the infopass appointment at http://www.uscis.gov . On the right hand side select the option "Schedule an appointment" and follow the directions.

Good luck.

Are you talking about Atlanta ASC, 1255 Collier Road, Suite 100. Atlanta, GA 30318???

All I know is that Atlanta ASC told me to take a hike last October... about 15 minutes before my scheduled time when the place was empty

Maybe things have changed since then or the guard was just being an #### (quite possible, of course!) but it certainly seemed then that they wouldn't accept people other than at exactly their allotted time.

That said, once I was in, it took less than 10 minutes and once I was past the #### on the door, everyone was polite and courteous :)

[edit: What? I can't say ####? Another word for donkey :P]

Thanks for your help guys.....

Jeremy.... yes it's the Collier Road address.

It doesn't sound too promising!

I rang the 1800 number to see if they could tell me anything.... the woman I spoke to was as much use as a bicycle is to a fish.... I'm sure it was her first day on the job!

If we're going in that direction wemight call in to see if we can get it early..... from the sound of jeremy's post it doesn't seem too likely they'll see us.....

Or we'll just wait until August 14!

If it's not too far, just drop by and see when you're passing by. Can't hurt.

Failing that or if it's a long awkward way to go to risk being sent away, just wait for your date, that way you know you will be seen...

Hi mamaSue,

I would suggest to do an early walk in . It will take the burden off your mind.

Most ASC don't bother about you being early there. The worse that can happen to you is that they will not let you do it, that's it which is very rare.. Just don't explain too much to the guard.

Just show him your appointment letter, expired GC and other government documents. The entire process shouldn't take more than 30 minutes or so. They will have you have fill out a form. Make sure you fill out everything correctly. (Take NOA and biometric letter with you).

The officer will take fingers prints of both hands and then a photo and might ask you to verify your info on a computer screen. This is not necessary but happend to me.

Use this to find out if your ASC is open on weekends and go there on weekend rather than a week day.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck.

I wonder what is the slowest day for biometrics?

Your local office is Atlanta too?

It's pretty much same for AOS biometrics, but FYI you are in Removing of Condititions forumwink.gif

Why don't you post this question on AOS forum?

The OPs profile says removing conditions - but I can move the thread if perhaps it is an AOS related question.

Sorry I wasn't talking about OP.

I was answering to this post (Alla's status is AOS)smile.gif

Walk-in and/or Early Biometrics is possible; however, it depends on the ASC location and the supervisor of the location since all of them are private-owned. Standing as the first person in the line doesn't give you any guarantee they will let you in. My location was ASC Atlanta. I was there 6:30am in the morning, was the first one in line when they open at 8:00am and they denied to let me me in to have my biometrics taken early. But, it wasn't the end of the story, I went back to work, then came back at 12:30pm (lol ... my boss let me out early) ... they let whoever doesn't have the appointment on THAT DAY stand in other line ... it was unbelievable but it was true. I stand outside until 3:15pm when nobody came for their appointment that day anymore, they let us in... and the place closes at 4pm.

In the end, I have my biometrics taken 2 weeks early on 6/23 (scheduled 7/3). Goodluck and I hope you got out something from my experience.

We walked in and had no issues with it. It was about 2 weeks before our date, and when we got there (Wednesday, around noon), there was only one other car there. We had no issues at all, and we left not even 10 minutes later. The guard outside was really friendly to us, although I had to wait in the car while my husband went inside. We went on 6/9, and our biometrics were scheduled for 6/21.
